    221: Paul Duchene, Automotive Journalist Takes You On a Hilarious Automotive Journey Apr 07, 2015
    Show notes

    Paul Duchene has been an automotive journalist for 40 years. In that time he has owned about 250 cars, and drove an Isetta three-wheeler daily as a reporter in London in the 1960s. He’s raced motorcycles and ran the 1,000 mile Moto-Giro d’Italian on a 1957 Ducati and he ran the 5,000 mile Alcan Winter Rally six times. He has written for the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Car and Driver, Autoweek, and Roundel, and was the Automotive Editor at The Oregonian and the Portland Tribune, and Executive Editor at Sports Car Market Magazine. These days, Paul writes classic car auction catalogs for RM and Gooding, for the soon-to-be-opened World of Speed Museum and for Hagerty’s European website. You can hear Paul at the Laguna Seca and Portland historic races as an announcer.


    220: Mark Lizewskie, Director of the Antique Automobile Museum of America Apr 06, 2015

    Mark Lizewskie is the Executive Director of the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, the AACA in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He was previously the curator, restorer, and historian for the JWR Automobile Museum, Mark is also a veteran of the concours circuit having exhibited vehicles and judging at numerous venues across the country. He’s the founding member of The Elegance at Hershey Concours and serves on the board of directors and at the National Association of Automobile Museums (NAAM) and the Rolls-Royce Foundation. Mark’s also been an ASE Certified Master Technician for over 25 years.


    219: Kevin Clemens, Automotive Writer, Editor, and Land Speed Record Setter Apr 03, 2015

    Kevin Clemens is an award winning writer and magazine editor. He’s been a staff member at Automobile and European Car magazines and has written columns for numerous other publications and major automotive companies. Kevin has written eight books and he has received the Ken Purdy Award for Excellence in Automotive Journalism. In 2006 he started the independent publishing company, Demontreville Press in Lake Elmo, Minnesota that specializes in the publication of automotive fiction and the republishing of out of print automotive titles. In 2011 he set a National Land Speed Record at Bonneville on an electric motorcycle that he built in his home garage. He returned to the Salt Flats and set more records in an electric sidecar motorcycle.


    218: Michael Alan Ross, Automotive Photographer Apr 02, 2015

    Michael Alan Ross is an automotive photographer who has taken his passion and love for car design and carved out a career photographing the cars and people that define the industry. His work is featured in a wide range of advertising and editorial in the U.S. and Europe. Michael’s love of car design includes encylclopedic knowledge of engineering details and an appreciation for the evolution of a component and sentimentality for the classics. He is a licensed photographer for Porsche and can be found at events around the world or with collectors and designers who touch the hobby. He collaborated with author Tom Cotter and Ken Gross to shoot for their book Rocking Garages and he has a new book coming out that he’s creating with Tom Cotter titled Barnfind Roadtrip.


    217: Satch Carlson, Editor of The BMW Club Roundel Magazine Apr 01, 2015

    Satch Carlson is a raconteur, a humorist, and a veteran correspondent of what he calls the international Motorsports Journalism Bidness. He spent years as a columnist and feature writer at AutoWeek magazine and many other publications before taking the helm of Roundel Magazine, the official publication of the 70,000+ member BMW Car Club of America. He also contributes monthly columns to Hemmings Sports & Exotic Cars magazine. He is an active participant in driving events and tours and he’s at home on the track as much as the open road. He loves his Z4M roadster so much that he was once heard to say, “When I die, just put handles on the roadster – and dig a deep hole.


    216: Lisa Noble, the President of the Sports Car Club of America the SCCA Mar 31, 2015

    Lisa Noble is the President of the Sports Car Club of America, better known as the SCCA. She has been a nationally licensed motorsports driver since 1992 and in addition to her passion for motorsports she is an artist and a sculpture. She’s on the board of trustees for the Motorsports Hall of Fame and in 2014 she was recognized by the Women’s Sports Foundation and given their award for cultural change in the motorsports world. She’s also won the SCCA historic Kimberly Cup, held multiple track records at Sebring, Hallett, and Heartland Park and she was the first woman to earn a national race win in a Formula Vee.


    215: Patrick Foster, Best Known Automotive Journalist and Writer Mar 30, 2015

    Patrick Foster is one of America’s best-known automotive journalists. He has been writing for more than 25 years and is a dedicated historian and author with a broad experience in the automotive industry. His work has appeared in numerous automotive magazines and he has regular columns in Hemmings Classic Car and Old Cars Weekly. Patrick has written 17 books about the American automobile and has two new books coming out this year titled, George Romney-An American Life and The History of International Harvester Trucks. He’s won numerous awards and was honored with the Lee Iacocca Award for excellence in automotive writing.


    214: Dennis Palatov from Palatov Motorsports Builds Custom Track Cars Mar 27, 2015

    Dennis Palatov is the owner of Palatov Motorsport, founded in 2008 and operating in Portland, Oregon. Their he and his talented team design, manufacture, and market lightweight high performance vehicles, parts, and accessories primarily targeted at recreational track day and street use. His company philosophy focuses on innovative, lean, and efficient design coupled with an excess of power and performance.


    213: Klaus Schnitzer, Automotive Photographer, Journalist and Entrepreneur Mar 26, 2015

    Klaus Schnitzer is an internationally renowned automotive photographer and writer. He is a professor in the department of art and design at Montclair state university and is the director of the photography program. Assignments take him all over the world and have resulted in books, feature articles and more than 110 cover photographs for national and international publications. His work can be found in numerous private collections as well as the Museum of Modern Art and numerous other museums around the world. His name appears on the mastheads of Bimmer, Roundel and Sports Car International magazines along with many other worldwide publications, advertisements, and commercial accounts.

    Rob Ida owns Rob Ida Concepts in Morganville New Jersey. His family history and involvement around cars goes back to his grandfather Joe Ida who opened a Tucker dealership in Brooklyn New York. His father Bob was a hot rod and racecar builder. Today, Rob and his talented team can build you the car of your dreams and he is a national award winning custom car designer and builder. They provide full design and creation of one-of-a-kind vehicles, modified automobiles, and customs. They specialize in American cars from the 30s to the 70s and their current Tucker Torpedo project, a car that has never been built but was presented to Preston Tucker when he built his first car.
