    780: Bob Marlow is a veteran motorsports writer and speedway announcer and he's the Motorsports Editor at Car Show Safari. May 29, 2017
    Show notes

    Bob Marlow is a veteran motorsports writer and speedway public address announcer from New Jersey. Bob's been to more than 100 speedways in the US and Canada covering everything from the local short tracks to Formula 1 and IndyCar. Most recently Bob was at Phoenix Raceway, where he was on the microphone for the Vintage Desert Classic vintage IndyCar event that was part of the Verizon Indycar Series' weekend. And he just completed a 15-year run as the lead announcer for the "Gambler's Classic" midwinter indoor racing events in Atlantic City. Now retired from announcing, today Bob is the Motorsports Editor for CarShowSafari.com, a web site with the ambitious tagline of "Every Car Event, Everywhere." Bob is also a classic car enthusiast, and can be seen roaming the aisles at Hershey every October.


    779: Dana Newquist is the President of the Santa Barbara AACA Regionand co-chairs the Montecito Motor Classic. May 26, 2017

    Dana Newquist is the President of the Santa Barbara AACA Region (Antique Automobile Club of America). His is a lifetime of automotive enthusiasm that began when just prior to graduating from High School, in 1965 when Dana purchased a rusty old 1957 Chevy 150 2 door. It was the first of hundreds of cars, first fast, later slow. His passion for cars has lead to a collection of 16 cars today, mostly pre-war American of various marques. Dana's involvement with the AACA has helped him make connections and affiliations with Museums and he is a Board Member of the Murphy Auto Museum. He's helped chair and organize local car shows and he currently co-chairs the Montecito Motor Classic and Father's Day Show at the Santa Barbara Club that takes place annually.


    778: Tim Willard is a Master Mechanic and Restorer who works at Dennison International on Pebble Beach winning vintage cars. May 25, 2017

    Tim Willard was four years old when he sat on his father's lap and steered the family's Pontiac Chieftain down a dirt road. In high school he worked at a local Alfa Romeo dealership, learning his craft on Italian marques including Ferrari, Maserati, and Lamborghini. He was a race mechanic with some top teams competing in Formula Atlantic, Indy Lights, and IMSA GTP. Later he restored cars with past Cars Yeah guest Butch Dennison*, who then worked with Pete Lovely at Pete Lovely Racing. He served as a tech with BMW Northwest and then spent 15 years at Griot's Garage as a product development specialist and then a curator and restorer of the owner's private collection. Today Tim is a senior restoration technician at Dennison International in Puyallup Washington where they restore Pebble Beach winning automobiles and service vintage race cars and touring cars for their clients.

    Tomm Scalera is the President, Creative Director and Founder at Car Show Safari dot com. There he works along side his daughter Ruby, a past guest on Cars Yeah, and a talented team with a mission to be the single source for information about every car event – everywhere. Tomm is passionate about his love for the automobile, whether he's restoring them, racing them, photographing them, or writing about them. He spent years as a designer in the advertising world in New York City before founding Cars Show Safari. Today, when he's not in the office you'll find Tomm working on his '62 Thunderbird convertible, restoring a '67 MGB, a '59 Triumph TR-3A or racing his '06 Mustang GT convertible.

Ruby has been attending car shows since before she could walk and she fell in love with cars at a tender young age, specifically of the 1957 Corvette variety. She has written for a number of automotive publications, she is an author, and loves having a career that blends her passion for writing with her love for automobiles.     774: Garth Stein is the author of The Art of Racing in the Rain and the Enzo children's books series. May 19, 2017

    Garth Stein is an author whose book The Art of Racing in the Rain is the most recommended by automotive enthusiasts here on Cars Yeah. The Art of Racing in the Rain has sold more than 4 million copies in 35 languages and was on the New York Times bestseller list for three years. That book inspired a Young Reader edition as well as a children's picture book adaptation and a stage adaptation. Garth has also written a series of children's books about a dog named Enzo. His latest novel is A Sudden Light and previous acclaimed novels include: Raven Stole the Moon and How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets. Garth is the author of a full-length play, Brother Jones, and before turning to writing full-time Garth was a documentary filmmaker.

    Wes Eisenschenk has successfully reunited dozens of enthusiasts with their lost cars through dedicated research and an unwavering attitude to never give up. In 2010, he located the original owner of his father's 1969 Impala SS 427 convertible, which was the catalyst for entering the world of automotive archeology. A collector car hobbyist himself, Wes enjoys showing his 1969 Plymouth Road Runner and his 2001 Roush Mustang at local car shows and events. His new book, 1969 Plymouth Road Runner in Detail shows all the history, marketing, and options for that car and his past book Lost Muscle Cars includes 45 intriguing stories involving some of the most significant American iron every created and arms you with some tools to begin your quest to make the next great discovery in automotive archeology


    772: Nicolas Hunziker is an automotive artist and designer who is building a Porsche by trading his art for the parts. May 17, 2017

    Nicolas Hunziker is an automotive artist that is fueled by passion. He is a fourth generation painter whose roots in creativity go back to his great-grandfather who was a classically trained painter. His grand uncle was the famous Prince Bira of Siam who was the first Thai, Grand-Prix motor racing driver. Nic's style, which he calls Period Correct Art, is bold, colorful, graphic, and has a definitive racing theme. You'll find his work in magazines, on posters, apparel, films, and painting including murals and commissioned artwork that hangs in some of the most famous collections around the world. Nic's latest venture is his Art Car Project. He is backdating a 2004 GT3 in to a 1999 GT3 R, but a street version. He will fund everything in trade for his artwork.

    J. Daniel Jones is the author of the novel CarAlity… A Tribute In New Orleans. Dan spent 8 years as a producer, director, and host at a television station in San Diego, California where he lives. He received 7 EMMY nominations and 3 EMMY awards. Once he left the TV station he spent the next 8 years as a writer, producer working on large budget videos for clients including Intel, Siemens, and Motorola. Finally he was able to use his talents and passion for automobiles to work on automotive programs on ESPN2 and The Outdoor Channel. He covered events including the Carrera La Panamericana, Hot Rod Power Tour, Drag Week, and more. His book CarAlity is his first book and it is a novel about the television and special events industry that take place in a collector car auction. Dan's story telling talents make this 600+ page book a must read for all automotive enthusiasts. I call it the "War and Peace" of car books.
