May 5th: Following Jesus from the Heart. Kids Devotional | Carpooling with Jesus May 05, 2025
    Show notes

Hey Carpool Crew! Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin explores a tough question someone asked Jesus in Luke 13:23: “Are only a few people going to be saved?” Instead of giving a number, Jesus flips the question and makes it personal—Are YOU following me?

This episode reminds us that Jesus doesn’t just want a few perfect people in heaven. He wants everyone to follow Him! That means trusting Him, including others, and living out what He teaches—not just going through the motions.

We’ll also hear about a kid named Emma who chose kindness at lunch and showed what it means to truly follow Jesus from the heart.

    🚗 Big Idea for Kids:
Jesus wants everyone to follow Him—not just a few.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:
Luke 13:23 – “Lord,” someone asked him, “are only a few people going to be saved?”

    💬 Car Conversation Starter:
Do I ever treat faith like it’s only for a few people instead of an invitation for everyone?

    🎯 Weekly Challenge:
Invite someone new to church, pray for a friend, or include someone who feels left out—just like Jesus would.

    👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Note:
If today’s episode encouraged your family, share it with your kids’ pastor or a friend! We love being a resource to churches and families around the country.

May 2nd: Who Then Can Be Saved? Kids Devotional | Carpooling with Jesus May 02, 2025
    Show notes

Hey Carpool Crew! Pastor Justin is back with another big question people asked Jesus—this one comes straight from His disciples: “Who then can be saved?” (Matthew 19:25)

The disciples were shocked to hear that it’s hard for rich people to enter heaven. In their world, being rich meant you were already close to God. But Jesus flipped that idea upside down! Today we learn that you don’t have to be perfect, rich, or powerful—you just have to trust Jesus. It’s not about earning God’s love. He already gives it freely.

    🚗 Big Idea for Kids:
You don’t have to be rich, perfect, or powerful—you just have to trust Jesus.

📖 Bible Verse of the Day:
Matthew 19:25–26 – “Who then can be saved?... With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

    💬 Car Conversation Starter:
Have I ever felt like I’m not good enough for God?

    🙏 Short Friday Prayer:
God, thank You for this week. Help us finish strong today and bless our weekend with joy and rest. Amen.

May 1st: What Must I Do to Inherit Eternal Life? Kids Devotional | Carpooling with Jesus May 01, 2025
    Show notes

Hey Carpool Crew! Pastor Justin is kicking off a new month full of big questions people asked Jesus. Today’s comes from a rich young ruler who asked, “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” (Mark 10:17)

This man had everything—money, power, and probably a huge collection of shoes and toys. But deep down, he was missing something. When he asked Jesus how to live forever with God, the answer was a lot harder than expected. Jesus showed him (and us) what it really means to put God first.

    🚗 Big Idea for Kids:
Loving God means putting Him first—more than anything else.

    Show notes

April 25th: Samson’s Final Prayer and God’s Grace | Carpooling with Jesus Apr 25, 2025
    Show notes

👋 Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus!

Today wraps up our week with Samson, and it’s a powerful reminder of something we all need to hear: Even when we mess up, God can still use us. 🙌

In this episode of Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin walks through the final chapter of Samson’s story in Judges 16:28, where Samson—broken, blind, and alone—prays one more time:
“Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more.”

    And guess what? God does.

    🎯 Big Takeaways:

    • Samson gave away his secret and lost everything… but God wasn’t done with him.

    • Grace means God still loves us, forgives us, and gives second chances—even when we’ve blown it.

    • One honest prayer can change everything.

    • Jesus doesn’t cancel people—He restores them.

From Peter to Zacchaeus to Samson, the Bible is full of people who made mistakes but still got used by God—and you can be one of those people too.

    💬 Car Question:
Can you think of a time you made a mistake, but were given another chance?

🙏 One Thing for the Ride:
Even when we mess up, God can still use us.

📣 Parents: If this podcast encouraged you and your kids this week, share it with a friend or post about it. We love seeing new families join the Carpooling with Jesus crew!

    Show notes

    Hey carpool family 👋
Ever been so distracted you totally forgot what you were supposed to be doing? That happened to Samson—and it cost him big time.

🚗 Main Idea for the Ride:
When we forget God’s way, we lose our way.

    📖 Verse of the Day:
Judges 16:17 — “No razor has ever been used on my head… If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me.”

💡 In today’s episode, Pastor Justin helps kids understand:

    • How Samson let distractions pull him away from God’s plan

    • Why keeping our focus on Jesus helps us live with purpose

    • And what to do when the world gets noisy and tempting

🐿️ Bonus story: Ever missed a baseball because you were watching a squirrel? Pastor Justin did—and it’s a perfect picture of what distractions can do in life.

    💬 Car Conversation Starter:
What kind of distractions do we deal with that might pull us away from what Jesus wants?

🎧 Whether it’s friends, screens, or trying to fit in—this episode gives your kids practical encouragement to stay focused on God’s voice and walk His path with confidence.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parents, if this episode encouraged your family, share it with your church’s kids’ pastor. We love supporting churches across the country with faith-filled content for families!

    Show notes

    Hey carpool crew 👋
Have you ever been so mad you couldn’t think straight? Today, Pastor Justin shares a wild moment from Samson’s story that shows exactly what happens when we let anger take control.

🚗 Main Idea for the Ride:
When we act on anger instead of God's plan… things get messy.

    📖 Verse of the Day:
Judges 15:15 — “Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.” (Yep, it happened!)

🛑 What can kids learn from Samson’s outburst?

    • Why reacting in anger rarely leads to peace

    • How Jesus teaches us to respond with kindness instead of revenge

    • And one simple thing we can do when we’re really mad: pause and pray

    💬 Car Conversation Starter:
The next time I’m angry, what’s one thing I can do so I don’t make a decision I’ll regret?

April 22nd: Samson’s Strength and Yours | God Gives Us Power for a Purpose | Carpooling with Jesus Apr 22, 2025
    Show notes

👋 Welcome to Carpooling with Jesus!

Not all strength looks like Samson’s. 💪 Sometimes it's standing up for a friend, choosing kindness, or using your talents to bless someone else.

In today’s Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin shares the wild moment from Judges 14:6 when Samson tears apart a lion with his bare hands—powered not by muscles alone, but by the Spirit of God. 🦁⚡️
But here's the big idea: God gives us strength to do what He calls us to do.

From snowstorms in Buffalo to creative birthday gifts from his son, Pastor Justin reminds us that God gives each of us a unique kind of strength—for a reason.

    🎯 Takeaways:

    • Samson’s strength came from God, not just big muscles

    • Your talents, courage, and kindness are gifts too

    • Strength is for serving, not showing off

    • God uses your gifts to bless others and make a difference

🚗 One Thing for the Ride:
God gives us strength to do what He calls us to do.

    💬 Car Question:
What’s one specific way I can use the talents God gave me to bless someone else today?
