October 9th: Scared of Moving or Changing Schools? | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus Oct 09, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey carpool crew!
Whether you're facing a big move, starting at a new school, or just feeling nervous about all the changes around you — this episode is for you. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin talks about one of the biggest fears many kids face: what if I have to move or change schools?

We’ll look at Isaiah 43:19, where God says, “I’m doing something new… I will make a way in the wilderness.” This verse reminds us that even when things feel scary or uncertain, God is already making a way for us — not just to get through it, but to discover something new and good in the process.

You'll hear the story of Mateo, a real kid who had to move away from everything he knew — and how God showed up through one act of kindness in a brand new classroom. Whether you’re heading to a new place or learning to be brave in the one you’re already in, this episode will remind you that Jesus goes ahead of you, walks beside you, and never leaves you behind.

🎧 Today’s takeaway: God doesn’t just comfort us when things change — He creates new things through the change.

BONUS: What Should I Do If… I’m Being Bullied? | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus Oct 08, 2025
    Show notes

Hey Carpool Crew — I’m Pastor Justin, and I’m so glad you’re here.

This is a special Carpooling with Jesus+ bonus episode — part of our series:
    👉 “What Should I Do If…”

We’re talking about real stuff kids face every day — at school, in the neighborhood, and even at church. And today’s topic is a big one:

What Should I Do If...Im being Bullied.

    👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parent Action Step:

Parents — use this episode as more than background noise.
Use it as a launching point for a real conversation with your child.

Here are some questions to get you started. Ask them gently, without pressure, and be ready to listen without interrupting. The goal is to open the door, not to get all the answers right away.

💬 Questions to Ask Your Child:

“Have you ever seen someone get picked on at school or in your neighborhood?”

“What do you think bullying looks like? What makes it different from someone just having a bad day?”

“Has anyone ever made you feel nervous, embarrassed, or unsafe — on purpose?”

“If that ever happened, would you feel comfortable telling me or another adult?”

“What do you think Jesus would say to someone being bullied?”

“What would you do if you saw a kid sitting alone every day?”

“Do you know what to say if someone is being mean to you over and over?”

“Has anyone ever said something to you online that felt wrong or hurtful?”

“Have you ever done or said something you wish you could take back?”

“Is there anything you haven’t told me because you weren’t sure how I’d respond?”

These questions help you gently explore both sides of the experience — whether they’ve seen bullying, experienced it, or participated in it.

🚩 Signs That Your Child Might Be Getting Bullied:

Even when kids don’t say anything out loud, their behavior often tells the story. Here are some typical signs to watch for:

Suddenly not wanting to go to school or church

Complaints of stoma ch aches, headaches, or feeling sick before school

Torn clothing, missing items, or unexplained bruises

Big mood swings after school — especially sadness or anger

    Trouble sleeping or frequent nightmares

A drop in confidence or saying things like, “I’m dumb” or “No one likes me”

Changes in eating habits (eating way more or less than usual)

Avoiding social situations they used to enjoy

Withdrawing from friends or acting distant

Refusing to talk about what happened that day

Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s loud. But it’s always worth leaning in.

October 8th: Scared of the Doctor or Dentist? | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus Oct 08, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey carpool crew!
If the words “checkup” or “dentist” make your stomach twist, you’re not alone — and today’s episode is just for you. We’re continuing our October series What Would Jesus Say About the Things That Scare Us? by looking at a fear many kids (and adults!) deal with: going to the doctor or dentist.

In this episode, Pastor Justin shares a powerful story from Luke 8:48 where Jesus doesn’t just heal a woman’s body — He gives her peace. Whether you’re nervous about a shot, a cleaning, or just that big light over the chair, this episode reminds us that Jesus meets us right where we are and walks with us through every uncomfortable moment.

    You’ll learn:

How Jesus helps us feel brave even when we’re scared

A short prayer you can whisper before an appointment

What it means to “go in peace” — even in the waiting room!

Jesus doesn’t expect you to be fearless. He’s proud of your courage even when you’re holding someone’s hand tight or blinking back tears. So let’s face this fear together with faith, peace, and maybe even a stuffed animal in hand.

🎧 This episode is great for families talking about upcoming appointments, facing nervous feelings, or teaching kids to trust Jesus in everyday moments.

October 7th: Scared of Bad Dreams? | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Oct 07, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey carpool crew! 👋
Maybe you woke up today still feeling a little shaky from a bad dream, or maybe you’ve had a few nights recently where falling asleep felt scary. You’re not alone. On today’s Carpooling with Jesus, we’re continuing our October series, What Would Jesus Say About the Things That Scare Us?—and today’s fear is a nighttime one: scary dreams.

Proverbs 3:24 says, “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; you will lie down, and your sleep will be pleasant.” This is a promise reminding us that God gives peace even while we sleep. He doesn’t sleep or forget about us—He’s with us in the daylight and in the dark.

If Jesus were sitting at the end of your bed after a nightmare, He wouldn’t roll His eyes. He’d say, “I’m here. You’re safe. You can rest.” Today’s episode will help you learn how to respond when you wake up scared, what the Bible says about sleep and peace, and how to pray for calm when your dreams get scary.

📍 Question of the Day: What helps you feel safe when you wake up from a scary dream?

See you tomorrow for more Carpooling with Jesus!

October 6th: Scared of Disappointing Others? | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Oct 06, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey carpool crew! 👋
Have you ever made a mistake that hurt someone you really care about—like your parents, teacher, coach, or a close friend? That heavy feeling of disappointment can be tough, especially when you hear those words, “I’m not mad, just disappointed.” But today’s episode of Carpooling with Jesus is here to remind you of something important: you are loved, even when you mess up.

We’re continuing our October series, What Would Jesus Say About the Things That Scare Us?—and today, we’re talking about the fear of disappointing others. In Matthew 3:17, God says about Jesus, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” And here’s the amazing part: God said that before Jesus ever did a miracle, preached a sermon, or went to the cross. He was already fully loved—not because of what He had done, but because of who He was. And that’s true for you too.

You don’t have to be perfect for God—or your parents—to be proud of you. When you make mistakes (and we all do!), the best thing you can do is be honest, say you're sorry, and remember that you're still loved. Today’s devotional helps you walk through those hard moments with courage, humility, and grace.

📍 Question of the Day: What’s something you’ve done that made you feel bad—but God reminded you that you are still loved?

See you tomorrow for another episode of Carpooling with Jesus!

October 2nd: Scared of Feeling Alone? | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus Oct 02, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey Carpool Crew!
Have you ever felt left out, invisible, or just really alone? Whether you're riding in the backseat or listening at the breakfast table, this episode is for you.

This October, we’re in a series called What Would Jesus Say About the Things That Scare Us? — and today we’re talking about the fear of being alone.

    In Matthew 28:20, Jesus says:

"And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Jesus gave that promise right before He returned to heaven—and it’s not just for the people standing in front of Him that day. It’s for you, right now. Even when you're sitting by yourself at lunch, walking through a quiet hallway, or feeling like no one sees you—Jesus does.

In this episode, Pastor Justin reminds us:

What Jesus says when we feel like no one understands

Why being alone doesn’t mean being unseen

How to remember that Jesus is always with you

How you can turn loneliness into kindness by helping someone else

This is the perfect encouragement for kids dealing with friendship struggles, lonely moments, or those quiet heart aches we don’t always talk about.

October 1st: Scared of the Dark? | Kids Devotional Carpooling with Jesus Oct 01, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey Carpool Crew!
We’re kicking off our October series, What Would Jesus Say About the Things That Scare Us?—and today’s episode tackles a big one: the dark.

    Jesus said in John 8:12:

“I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

That means even when you're lying in bed at night, walking down a dark hallway, or heading to the basement, you are not alone. His light is in you—and it’s stronger than fear.

In this episode, Pastor Justin talks about:

    • What Jesus would say if He were with you in a dark room

    • Why His light is better than any nightlight

    • How to pray when you're scared

    • A fun and helpful way to remember John 8:12

This is a great conversation for families dealing with fear at bedtime or any time.

Carpooling with Jesus is a daily Christian devotional podcast for kids and families. Each episode helps you start your day with God’s Word, real-life stories, and encouragement to follow Jesus every day.

If you’ve ever been scared of the dark—or know someone who is—this episode is for you.

September 30th: Trusting God’s Word That Never Fails | Devotional for Kids Carpooling with Jesus Sep 30, 2025
    Show notes

    Hey, carpool crew!

Whether this is your first ride with us or you’ve been buckled in all month, today we’re wrapping up Proverbs for Your School Life with a powerful truth about God’s Word that every kid—and parent—needs to hear.

Today’s verse, Proverbs 30:5, says, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” This means you can trust every single word God says—because it's flawless and never fails. Just like a strong shield, God’s Word offers protection, direction, and truth that stands firm even when everything else feels shaky.

So if you’ve ever felt confused, overwhelmed, or just unsure what to do at school, with friends, or in your own heart—run to God. Open your Bible. Say a prayer. Trust what He already said. You’re not alone—and His promises are always true.

🎯 In this episode, we talk about:

What it means that God’s word is “pure”

Why God is described as a shield

How kids can trust the Bible in school and everyday life

How to start building your life on Scripture now

Before you go, answer this with your family:
What’s one truth from God’s Word that helped you this month, and how can you hold onto it?

💬 Parents, if this month of daily kids devotions encouraged your family, let us know on Instagram, post in a parenting Facebook group, or share the podcast with someone you know who’s raising faith-filled kids!

🛡️ Whether your child is riding to school, eating breakfast, or just needing a reminder of God's love, Carpooling with Jesus is your go-to daily Bible podcast for kids. These short devotions help children build their faith, learn God's Word, and make wise choices every day.
