🚨🌿 **Breaking News: Urgent Call for Clarity in Hemp Regulation - Cannabis Legalization Update** 🌿🚨 Hey everyone! In today's video, we're diving deep into the crucial updates regarding the reauthorization of the Farm Bill and its impact on hemp and cannabis regulation. A coalition of U.S. Attorneys General is raising the alarm about the consequences of the 2018 Farm Bill. 🧑‍⚖️📜 👉 Here's what you need to know: 1. The 2018 Farm Bill's vague definition of hemp has led to a surge in intoxicating hemp products, challenging states' ability to manage health and safety concerns. 🌱💥 2. These hemp-derived products often resemble candies, posing risks to youth and bypassing existing cannabis regulations. 🍬🚸 3. With the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization, there's an urgent call to close the federal hemp intoxicants loophole and reaffirm state rights over cannabinoid regulation. 📢✅ 4. Attorneys General are advocating for clearer federal laws to protect communities from unregulated and potentially harmful hemp-derived intoxicants. 🛡️🌿

DEA’s Response to Cannabis Rescheduling Inquiry Goes Unanswered Feb 18, 2024
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Twelve U.S. Senators recently penned a letter addressed to the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and the Attorney General, expressing their deep concern and seeking specific information regarding the agency's approach to the rescheduling of cannabis. This letter comes in the wake of the DEA's announcement that they are undertaking an independent review of the current schedule I status of this plant. The primary objective of the Senators' missive is to promote transparency in the decision-making process and gain insights into the evidence being utilized as the foundation for this significant determination. In addition to their overarching request for openness, the Senators have also included a series of pointed inquiries that they hope to have addressed. The Senators' collective effort seeks to shed light on a matter of great importance and public interest. However the deadline for the requested information has been surpassed without any word on the status of the review, causing frustration and concern among advocates for the plant's reclassification. The DEA has yet to provide any indication of when the review will be completed or if it is even still ongoing. This lack of transparency from the DEA raises questions about their commitment to conducting a fair and unbiased evaluation. It also calls into question the validity of their decision-making process and whether politics may be playing a role in the delay. Congress' Jaw-dropping Response To Groundbreaking Cannabis Rescheduling Recommendation! Feb 04, 2024
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Several senators are in such fervent support of the measure that they have put their signatures on a document urging the DEA to fully deschedule the plant all together. This letter highlights the growing support for medical marijuana and emphasizes the need to remove it from Schedule I classification. This classification is reserved for drugs with no accepted medical use and carries severe penalties for possession and distribution. By removing marijuana from this category, it would open up opportunities for further research and potentially lead to nationwide legalization. The letter also points out that turning to complete legalization still does not repair the damage prohibition has caused many American livelihoods. While legalization on a state by state basis does help create stronger economies and benefit communities with additional tax dollars, businesses themselves have heavier burdens than those businesses that are not engaged in what is considered a federal crime. Additionally, many patients who rely on medical marijuana are still at risk of facing legal consequences because of the federal laws that classify it as a Schedule I drug. Tom Howard and Miggy 420 discuss this story and other hot stories of the week on Cannabis Legalization News.

High Time To Reschedule Marijuana: What's The Dea Waiting For? Cannabis News 2024 Jan 21, 2024
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

The HHS recently provided a recommendation to the DEA that suggests updating the scheduling status of marijuana. The majority of Americans waited hesitantly to see how that recommendation would be received and more anticipation was added to the mix when the memo in question was released nearly entirely redacted. In the recent weeks, some clarity has been gained and the memo was made available in its unredacted form. As we inch closer to a presidential election, this begs the question of whether this recommendation will be followed, who holds the authority on the matter, and what would this do in states that have already legalized the plant? For those unfamiliar with drug scheduling, it is a system implemented by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) that categorizes drugs based on their potential for abuse and medical use. Schedule I drugs are considered to have the highest potential for abuse and no accepted medical use, while Schedule V drugs have a low potential for abuse and accepted medical uses. Currently, marijuana is classified as a Schedule I drug, along with heroin and LSD. Supporters of this change argue that the current scheduling status of marijuana is outdated and ignores scientific research that has shown its potential for medicinal purposes.
