    In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul urged believers to continue in a life that pleased God—growing in holiness and love while waiting for the second coming.     Though Paul’s journey to the Thessalonian church was not easy, God faithfully directed both his steps and his stops, along with Silvanus and Timothy. In 1 Thessalonians chapter 1, Pastor Skip Heitzig explores how the Lord orders the path of the faithful, encouraging us to persevere in the “work of faith, labor of love, and steadfastness of hope” (v. 3), even in the midst of affliction.

    Most of us have a hard time saying this man’s name, but Paul knew it well. He was a loyal friend to the apostle, especially in his darkest hour. In just three verses we find six characteristics of this wonderful man who’s been overlooked for far too long. If you have a friend like this, you’re blessed.
