The former third-round pick - taken one round before Mookie Betts by the Red Sox in 2011 - who hadn't pitched since Little League, asked to live life on the mound because of his troubles at a position player. Seven years later, Weems lands as once of the best relief pitchers in the game, blowing hitters away with a 99 mph fastball for the Nationals. Episode 73, FULL SHOW -- The Nationals fell victim to a sweep by the Reds back in early July on home field. But this past weekend, the Nats got their revenge, sweeping the Reds in three games in Cincinnati. Grant & Tobi breakdown the Nats recent hot streak, including winning 11 of their last 16 games, quality pitching performances from Joan Adon and Jake Irvin, a resurgent bullpen, and a batting duo at the top of the order that is starting to click in CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas; The Bustin' Loose Baseball crew took a field trip down I-95 to Virginia Credit Union Stadium to see the debut of Nationals #2 Overall Pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, Dylan Crews.
