But to everyone's surprise, our old friend Juan Soto has stolen the headlines as the Padres have traded him to the New York Yankees. Grant and Tobi are back to break down why this trade went down, how this effects the Nationals, and what this trade means for Soto's legacy; After a quiet start to the Winter Meetings for the Nationals, the team finally made a couple of additions to the roster via the Rule 5 Draft and Free Agency. Grant and Tobi break down what you should know about each of the newest additions to the Nats roster; The MLB held its 2nd annual Draft Lottery this week at the Winter Meetings, and once again, the Nationals and various other teams who finished with bad records, didn't appear to benefit. Grant tells us why he thinks the MLB Draft Lottery arrived at the worst possible time for the Nationals, and why it punishes teams who are trying to build for long term success.

They come to the conclusion that spending money helped get here, and inquire whether this offseason is the right time for the Nationals to do the same; Grant and Tobi take a peek at who is hot and who is not as some of the Nats top prospects are in action in the Arizona Fall League. For one player, things are looking great. For some others...not so much; The Nationals recently made some roster moves, releasing Blake Rutherford and Hobie Harris to help get the 40-man roster down closer to the limit. Grant and Tobi try to figure out what other moves could be on the horizon to make space on the roster ahead of next season.
