    Built By Him

A podcast by teens, for teens—created to answer the real spiritual questions teens are actually asking. After sending thousands of teens out each year, we’ve gathered the most common questions about faith, God, and the gospel. Members from the organization HXP discuss questions related to how teenagers can build their relationship with God through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Humanitarian Experience (HXP) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization aligned with the principles, vision, and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, HXP is not sponsored or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brigham Young University, or any of their affiliates. If you would like to submit a question or comment, please contact info@hxp.org.

    Show notes

Change can be uncomfortable, especially when it comes to things we hold sacred. In this episode of Built By Him, Jordan Murray joins us to discuss recent changes in the Church, why God continues to guide His people through ongoing revelation, and how we can strengthen our faith when things don't always look the way we expect.

Whether you're excited, confused, or simply curious about recent developments, this conversation offers perspective, encouragement, and a reminder that Jesus Christ remains at the center of it all.

Whether you're facing disagreement, struggling to forgive, or looking for ways to better represent Christ, this conversation is a reminder that real strength is found in choosing peace.

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." — Matthew 5:9.

Patriarchal Blessings: What Is This Personal Letter From God? May 04, 2026
    Show notes

In this episode of Built By Him, we explore the meaning, purpose, and personal impact of patriarchal blessings within the LDS faith. Often described as a “personal scripture,” these blessings can offer guidance, identity, and a sense of divine direction—but they can also raise questions about interpretation, timing, and expectations.

We talk about what a patriarchal blessing is, how members prepare to receive one, and the role it plays over a lifetime. We also dive into the deeper themes—lineage, promises, and spiritual responsibility—and discuss how to approach these blessings with faith while staying grounded in real-life experiences.

Whether you’ve already received your blessing, are considering it, or are simply curious about this aspect of Latter-day Saint belief, this conversation is about seeking understanding and recognizing how God works individually with each of us.

In this episode, they share their personal favorite talks, the moments that actually stopped them in their tracks, and what the Prophet said that they're still sitting with. When you step back and think about it, living in a time where Apostles of Jesus Christ speak directly to us twice a year is kind of unreal. This is an episode you don't want to miss!

Interviewing Talon Savage: Is this Me or the Spirit? Apr 13, 2026
    Show notes

That quiet nudge you felt and then talked yourself out of? That's exactly what this episode is about.
Talon Savage, leader at HXP and host of his own podcast, joins us to break down a simple but powerful principle: the first thought is from God, and the second thought is the adversary planting doubt. Promptings come as impressions and feelings to do good, and they require action. The more you go for it without overthinking, the clearer that voice becomes. Stop second-guessing and start moving.
