Jarquez Carter is ready to make his call. The Class of 2025 defensive tackle from Newberry, Fla., will announce his college choice on Thursday.

If Carter chooses Ohio State over Miami (Fla.), Florida and several others, it would give the Buckeyes six defensive linemen in this cycle.

We (would) love that.

Carter is not the lone Ohio State target ready to pick a school. Trey McNutt is ready. Will Conroy is ready not to go to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes are also chasing several prospects in SEC territory.

Unfortunately, Ohio State will likely be without third-year sophomore running back T.C. Caffey this season due to a knee injury, per multiple sources. The Buckeyes have an excellent 1-2 punch at tailback with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, but there is a lack of depth behind them. The only other two scholarship RBs on the roster are true freshmen James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon. What do we expect out of Peoples and Williams-Dixon this season?

Now we know when the nation's No. 1 offensive lineman will announce where he will be playing college football. David Sanders Jr. released his final four of Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia and Nebraska on Sunday, and added that he will make his choice public on Aug. 17. Exactly two weeks from the Buckeyes' season-opener against Akron.
