Ohio State is stable. The defending national champions are ranked No. 1. Quite attractive as a destination, wouldn't you say?

There are other, less stable programs garnering interest, among them Penn State, LSU and Florida. By that we mean, many prospects committed to those headless operations have prospects attracting another wave of interest.

That interest is coming from stable programs like Ohio State. Defensive backs coach Tim Walton was on the road seeing a committed Gator on Friday night. Garrick Hodge and Mark Porter are here and we dive deep on that.

Speaking of Penn State, the Nits come to Columbus this weekend and there are on-field and recruiting implications to discuss.

Seven games and two bye weeks are behind us. Now Ohio State enters the stretch run of its regular season with five games the next five Saturdays. The stretch begins at home against Penn State this week. What can be expected from the Nittany Lions, who showed life in a one-point loss against Iowa on Oct. 18? What do the Buckeyes need to clean up the most if they want to achieve their goals this season?

Something Penn State is very aware of is the unprecedented in-season coaching firings we have seen this season in college football. The Nittany Lions have an interim head coach after dismissing James Franklin earlier this month. The latest to bite the dust is Brian Kelly at LSU, who didn't even complete four full seasons in Baton Rouge. Is this a one-year aberration, or might this be how college football looks in most seasons moving forward?
