Buckeyes about to land OT transfer? Apr 26, 2023

Is Ohio State about to land a quality offensive tackle from the portal? As our Bill Kurelic reported yesterday, OT Josh Simmons from San Diego State will make an official visit to OSU beginning this Friday and Simmons told Kurelic he has "high interest" in the Buckeyes. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Simmons is one of the top players available in the portal and has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

On today's show, Dave Biddle discusses the possibility of landing Simmons and what that would mean for the Buckeyes. Also, rumors are flying that Ohio State could be the landing spot for Notre Dame transfer Lorenzo Styles Jr., who is switching positions from wide receiver to defensive back. Furthermore, are there any concerns about OSU being a few over the scholarship limit? Or are we not concerned in the least? (Hint: Think latter.)

* Kyle McCord and OSU's quarterback situation. Can Devin Brown steal the job in camp? Or is McCord definitely going to be the starter, even after a shaky performance at the spring game?

* Second-year defensive players C.J. Hicks, Kenyatta Jackson and Sonny Styles shined on Saturday and throughout the spring. What will their roles be this fall for Jim Knowles' defense?

* Will OSU land an offensive tackle in the transfer portal? What are thoughts on the current O-linemen on the team?

* The Buckeyes landed two more commitments in their 2024 class on Saturday -- 4-star tight end Max LeBlanc and 3-star running back Sam Williams-Dixon. Ohio State has 12 commits and has the No. 2 class in the country. This is shaping up to be a huge and excellent class for the Buckeyes.
