Should Ryan Day be viewed as a quarterback whisperer? May 28, 2021
    Show notes

On this Friday Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com, Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means tackle the idea of Ohio State coach Ryan Day as a quarterback whisperer, and they have some disagreements about it. Also, Doug whispers.

How does the production of J.T. Barrett, Dwayne Haskins and Justin Fields affect Day's reputation? Does he need to recruit and develop a QB out of high school to truly establish his reputation? How much of Fields' success was Fields, and how much was Day?

Also, there's a brief discussion of the records dump from Ohio State this week, but they didn't spend too much time on it because they didn't consider it all that interesting.

Ohio makes sure Ohio State won't fall behind in NIL recruiting, but what took so long? May 25, 2021

Nathan Baird and Doug Lesmerises asked questions at the news conference Monday to announce it, and then came back and recorded this Buckeye Talk episode about why it’s happening now and what it means for Ohio State sports.

This bill will definitely pass, and then Ohio State will be in the same shape as schools like Alabama and Florida that already had legislation passed in their state.

6 teams, 8 teams, 12 teams? Which new playoff format would benefit Ohio State the most? May 19, 2021
    Show notes

This Buckeye Talk Podcast episode is all about the best format for the College Football Playoff, and which version would most benefit Ohio State.

The playoff committee last month announced it was looking into alternatives to the four-team model. It could change by 2023. So Doug Lesmerises, Nathan Baird and Stephen Means go over seven models, and what works the best for college football in general and what works best for Ohio State.

Led by texter input, playoff models with no teams, two teams, four teams, six teams, eight teams, 12 teams and 16 teams are discussed and analyzed. And Doug comes down very firmly on a plan that he likes the best and thinks would work for college football and the Buckeyes.
