REVIEW: 'The Shape of Water' Feb 07, 2018

Show notes

It’s Oscars season and we’re reviewing the Academy’s big category picks. ‘The Shape of Water’ (starring Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon and Richard Jenkins) is directed by Guillermo del Toro and has nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Hawkins), Best Supporting Actress (Octavia Spencer), Best Supporting Actor (Jenkins), Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography and more.

Synopsis:

"Elisa is a mute, isolated woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Her life changes forever when she discovers the lab's classified secret -- a mysterious, scaled creature from South America that lives in a water tank. As Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend, she soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist."

We put the movie through our critically acclaimed rating system, which grades based on four categories:

Did we like it?
How did everyone look?
Will we steal stuff from it?
Is it problematic?

UNZIP AND INSERT: Coffee mugs, Scrubs, movie sex, Super Bowl performances Feb 06, 2018

Show notes

DJ can't quite figure out how coffee travel mugs are supposed to work. We dish out some love to Scrubs, a very good sitcom with some very good characters. Why is movie sex always so weird and dumb...are we doing it wrong? We discuss Pink's Super Bowl anthem and Justin Timberlake's halftime show, and why the reaction to both of them was kind of ridiculous. Also, the Imagine Dragons had their lawyers get in touch with us.

The boys put on our battle armor and go to war for Mike Mussina and Philip Rivers. Oscar nominations are out so it's time to share feelings. The campaign for Will Byers to die in 'Stranger Things' Season 3 continues. A very important 'Paddington 2' episode is planned.

Show notes

After the first fight in podcast history, DJ and Pete air their grievances & have a therapy session. One of us won a free getaway. Pete Holmes exhibits the most incredible "virgin behavior" on the latest awesome episode of 'Crashing,' and 'High Maintenance' returns with plenty of full-frontal male nudity.

GUITAR DOESN'T GET YOU SEX (CAN CONFIRM): Mariah Carey trashes brunch, the Patriots drama, DM sliding Jan 08, 2018

Show notes

It's Monday and we're pissed anyone thinks we care what Mariah Carey says. Seth Wickersham is very rude for his 'explosive' story detailing the Patriots drama between Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft. We attempt to clarify what constitutes a DM slide on Instagram. DJ plays the guitar and it's not getting him laid.
