Track 7: Violent Social Media Crimes

    Summary:

Kelly and Andre discuss two disturbing cases involving men who committed heinous crimes. In the first case, they talk about Ali Abulaban, a TikTok star who became violent toward his wife and eventually killed her and her friend. Despite confessing to his mother and telling his daughter that he hurt his wife, he maintains his innocence. In the second case, they discuss Earl Lee Johnson Jr., who live-streamed himself torturing and stabbing a woman to death on Instagram. The video remained on the platform for a significant amount before being removed. These cases highlight the need for more effective efforts to address drug addiction, mental health issues, and the role of social media in facilitating violent content.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Men who commit violent acts often show signs of volatility and easily provoked behavior.
    2. Social media platforms struggle to police violent content promptly and effectively remove it.
    3. The bystander effect does not always apply online, as viewers of violent content can actively participate and engage with the perpetrator.
    4. Drug addiction and mental health issues can contribute to violent behavior and should be addressed more effectively.

The conditions of foster care and group homes need improvement to ensure the safety and well-being of abused children. The legal consequences for child abusers should be severe to deter future abuse and protect vulnerable children. Victims of abuse may not show obvious signs, and play therapy can be an effective way to help them open up and heal. Squatting laws can complicate the removal of abusers from a property, making it difficult to protect victims. 06/06/2023 Bruh Issa Murder Track 1: Abuse, Lies, and Betrayal: The Andre McDonald Case This episode covers the case of Andre McDonald, a US Air Force major who killed his wife, Andreen McDonald, in 2019. The couple's relationship was abusive, and Andreen had told friends that if she went missing, it was likely due to her husband. Andre killed Andreen, dismembered her, and burned her body. He tried to claim self-defense but was found guilty. The episode also discusses the tragedy of domestic abuse and the importance of reporting someone missing promptly. Episodes musical feature: "With Ease," Jasmine J Walker Music provided by https://Slip.stream Free Download/Stream: https://slip.stream/tracks/f266ec79-f14a-4122-a588-b23e9eed6623 Listen on Spotify: https://go-stream.link/sp-jasmine-j-walker. The case of Andre McDonald and the murder of his wife, Andreen McDonald, is a tragic story that highlights the devastating consequences of domestic abuse. The couple's relationship had become abusive, and Andreen had even told friends that if she went missing, it was likely due to her husband. Unfortunately, this turned out to be true. The Gang discusses the red flags in the relationship, including the fact that Andre's father's wife had been murdered shortly before Andre and Andreen married. This is a clear sign that there may have been a cycle of violence in the family, an important issue to address when dealing with domestic abuse. The details of the murder itself are horrifying. Andre admitted to attacking his wife in their home and eventually bludgeoning her with a claw hammer. He then attempted to hide the evidence by burning her corpse and dumping the remains. The conversation members met his attempts to claim self-defense and shift blame onto his wife with anger and disbelief. Andre's actions were not the result of a momentary lapse of judgment but rather a deliberate act of violence. The conversation also highlights the importance of not waiting to report a person missing. The 48-hour window is critical to finding the person and getting them the help they need. In this case, Andreen's friends and family had suspected something was wrong, but it wasn't until days later that her body was discovered. This is a tragic reminder of how important it is to deal quickly with domestic abuse cases. The case of Andre and Andreen McDonald is a tragic story that serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic abuse and the importance of recognizing and addressing red flags in relationships. Finally, the conversation ends with condolences to the family of Andreen, who must live with the guilt of telling her to stay with her abusive husband. This is a heartbreaking reminder that victims of domestic abuse often feel trapped and helpless in their situations. Friends and family need to offer support and resources to those experiencing abuse.
