It’s the rain hitting the earth in a way that reminds you of blood, that makes you think the world’s holding a knife to your underwear. It’s the spins. It’s running out of air because you gulped too much of it while you were sobbing. It’s waking up hot and sticky. It’s desperately falling in love with your best friend inside a camping tent while everything outside rages.
In Victoria Lynne Barclay’s Camping, Brit and Ari collide over and over again, reaching for each other across the fractures that are born of time and distance. Three decades. One tent. A million things left unsaid.”

Special Episode: Grace Yurchuk on the power, resonance of the all-woman ‘Caesar: The Musical’
Jun 19, 2026
On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with composer and performer Grace Yurchuk. For the past few years, Grace has been working on a musical version of the assassination of Julius Caesar and sharing the journey on social media.
To date, that process has culminated in the release of a six-song EP, which is available to purchase or stream wherever you get your music. In their conversation, Matt and Grace discuss the origins of the musical, why it felt important to tell this millennia-old story with an all-woman cast, the future of the show, and much more.
‘Caesar: The Musical’ is out now wherever you listen to music from Center Stage Records, and it was produced by our friend, Robbie Rozelle.

PF: Amas Musical Theatre Lab presents developmental readings of Industrial Strength, a new musical you were never supposed to see, by Steve Young and Stuart Ross.
A musical nominated for six Tony Awards but won none starred a performer who had earlier appeared in the film that had inspired the musical.
The name of the first song that this star sang in the show became, word for word, the name of a restaurant on West 57th Street. It stayed in business more than 50 times longer than the musical did. What’s the musical? What was the film? Who was the star of both? What was the name of the song and the restaurant?

Adam Feldman Pet peeve of the day: Marketing is marketing, I know, but it bugs me a little that Titaníque keeps saying it started in the basement of a Gristedes! It started at Asylum NYC, which was located in a long-established downstairs theater space that had formerly been the Upright Citizens Brigade, and before that the Maverick, and before that the American Jewish Rep, and before that the Roundabout. Yes, there was a Gristedes above that space for a time, but Asylum was very much a real theater, not a grocery-store basement pop-up.

In the 1950s and early 1960s, every American with a TV set knew this performer whose Broadway debut happened just over 100 years ago.

However, some years before, the performer had a cameo in a film version of a musical that Merrick had co-produced on Broadway. Who is the performer? What was the role Merrick offered? What was the film of the musical that Merrick had co-sponsored?

Co-Production with Rattlestick Theater Indian Princesses by Eliana Theologides Rodriguez directed by Miranda Cornell
April 30 – June 7, 2026 Atlantic Theater Company Linda Gross Theater
In the summer of 2008, five young girls of color and their white fathers attend a program designed to bond families through handmade activities, camp-like adventures, and a heavy dose of cultural appropriation. But where can these girls turn when the program sparks questions that their fathers are unable – or unwilling – to answer? Inspired by the playwright’s experiences in a father-daughter program of the same name, Indian Princesses is a tender satire that explores the stories we tell, the histories we omit, and the truths that live inside us, waiting to come out.
Indian Princesses is a brand new play that marks the Off-Broadway debuts of both Eliana Theologides Rodriguez and Miranda Cornell.

On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with Broadway alum Stacia Fernandez, who is currently in Florida leading the Riverside Theatre’s production of “9 to 5” as Violet, the role originated on screen by Lily Tomlin and on stage by Allison Janney. Despite her six Broadway credits, including many years in the company of “Mamma Mia!”, Fernandez is no stranger to Florida stages.
She recently led the Maltz Jupiter’s production of “Misery” and last year, got married when she and her long-time partner (now husband) Joseph Dellger were in the company of Riverside’s “Singin’ in the Rain.” Fortunately, Stacia and Joe are back working together again in “9 to 5” as he plays Tinsworthy.
In their conversation, Matt and Stacia discuss working with her husband, the continued resonance of “9 to 5,” the lessons she has imparted on her castmates, and much more.
Riverside Theatre’s production of “9 to 5” runs in Vero Beach, Florida, from April 16 through May 10.

Tony Award Productions announced today that music superstar and global icon P!NK will host the 79th Annual Tony Awards. The triple threat and lifelong theater fan will bring her unparalleled performance skills and magnetic stage presence to Radio City Music Hall when The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards return on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The 79th Annual Tony Awards® will broadcast LIVE to both coasts on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+* (8:00 – 11:00 PM ET/5:00 – 8:00 PM PT).
“It is the honor of an entire lifetime to host a night celebrating the literal hardest working people in showbiz,” said P!NK. “Broadway has shaped my life and how I put my own shows together – it is a community that is supportive, and inclusive, and full of talent and love. These people give magic every single day, and I cannot wait to celebrate them with the entire world.”
She continued, “When I was asked to host the Tonys, I immediately thought, ‘I have to get permission from my daughter.’ I’ve never been on Broadway, and shouldn’t you have to have been on Broadway in order to host? That seems fair and right. But when I asked my daughter, she was really excited about being able to have a ticket to go to the Tonys, so I’m hosting the Tonys and I’m really, really, excited and very nervous because that girl is a tough crowd!”
“Each year, the Tony Awards creates new theater fans around the world, expanding Broadway’s reach and shaping its future,” said Heather Hitchens, President & CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Jason Laks, President of the Broadway League. “Over the course of her extraordinary career, P!NK has built one of the most passionate and enduring fan communities in the history of popular music, giving her a unique ability to bring even more people into this growing family. Simply put: we could not be more excited to get this party started.”
“We are thrilled to welcome the incomparable P!NK as the host of this year’s Tony Awards—a fearless artist whose powerhouse voice, electrifying stage presence, and undeniable authenticity embody the very spirit of live performance and theatre,” said 2026 Tony Award executive producers Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman. “A passionate fan of Broadway, she brings a genuine love for the art form alongside her bold creativity and deep connection to audiences around the world, and we know she will deliver a fresh, dynamic energy to Broadway’s biggest night!”
“P!NK is an extraordinary artist, and her fearless creativity makes her an inspired choice to host this year’s Tony Awards on CBS,” said Mackenzie Mitchell, Senior Vice President of specials at CBS. “Her dynamic presence and deep respect for live performance will undoubtedly shape a powerful and memorable broadcast that celebrates the remarkable achievements of this Broadway season.”
Since bursting onto the scene in 2000, P!NK has achieved record-breaking success, using her platform to shape pop culture and champion humanitarian causes worldwide. She continues to evolve while remaining a global pop icon, a grounded mother and a trailblazer who has inspired millions worldwide.
She has built a career defined by fearless honesty, unforgettable live performances and a refusal to fit the mold. Her nine studio albums and greatest hits collection have sold more than 60 million album equivalents globally. She has earned 15 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four No. 1s and she has filled arenas and stadiums around the world with her high-energy, high-flying, record-setting shows.
P!NK’s work has earned three Grammy Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Video Music Awards, including the 2017 Vanguard Award. In 2019, she became the first international artist to receive the BRITs Outstanding Contribution to Music Award and she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Additional distinctions include the Billboard Music Awards Icon honors (2021) and the iHeartRadio Icon honors (2023), reflecting not only chart success but lasting influence and longevity.
In 2021, she released ‘Cover Me In Sunshine,’ a heartfelt duet with her daughter Willow Sage Hart. The documentary “P!NK: All I Know So Far” (Amazon Prime) and the companion live project, “All I Know So Far: Setlist,” followed, offering fans an intimate look at life on the road, the joys and challenges of motherhood, and the electrifying energy of her live performances.
Her ninth studio album TRUSTFALL set the stage for the Summer Carnival Tour, which became the second highest-grossing tour ever by a female artist. The stadium tour ran across 2023 and 2024 with 131 shows in 15 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S., playing to more than 4 million fans.
Her music is featured in two current Broadway productions – “Raise Your Glass” in Moulin Rouge! The Musical and “F**kin’ Perfect” in & Juliet.
P!NK is equally recognized for her activism and philanthropy. She has long championed causes such as Autism Speaks, the Human Rights Campaign, Make-A-Wish Foundation, No Kid Hungry and Planned Parenthood. She serves as a UNICEF USA ambassador. In 2025, she was honored with the Humanitarian Award from Action Against Hunger.

Special Episode: Lauren Molina on Asolo Rep’s actor-musician ‘Fiddler’
Apr 10, 2026
On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with one of theatre’s most talented multihyphenates, Lauren Molina. She is currently preparing to begin performances in a new actor-musician production of “Fiddler on the Roof” as Tevye’s long-suffering wife Golde at Asolo Rep in Sarasota, Florida.
From her Broadway debut in John Doyle’s 2005 Tony-winning actor-musician production of “Sweeney Todd,” audiences have known that not only is Lauren a talented actor and singer, but she is also a phenomenal celloist. Having been in numerous other shows that allowed her to show off her cello-playing ability (including a critically acclaimed production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” that she co-conceived with regular collaborator Nick Cearley), she has become a staple in the cabaret scene in New York and around the country, playing the cello in her underwear in the band The Skivvies, which she founded with Cearley.
In their conversation, Matt and Lauren discuss how the actor-musician concept can help explore nuance and depth in shows that we think we know, what “Fiddler” has to say about the world today, why Golde is a dream role she never knew she had, and how she dealt with a plague of lovebugs on a Florida beach.
Asolo Rep’s actor-musician production of “Fiddler on the Roof” runs in Sarasota from April 11 through May 24.

Apr 07, 2026
On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with Karin McCracken and Simon Leary, the stars of the new Off-Broadway play “Heartbreak Hotel.” McCracken wrote the show and stars as a woman living through the ups and downs of a particularly difficult breakup.
The show’s unique structure highlights the messiness of a traumatic breakup while also explaining to the audience what is happening to them on a scientific level as they go through a breakup. Peppered with laughs, music, and catharsis, the show is a unique look at a universally painful experience.
“Heartbreak Hotel” runs through April 19 at the DR2 Theatre.
Special Episode: Jen Schriever on lighting the supernatural world of ‘The Lost Boys’
Apr 06, 2026
On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with lighting designer Jen Schriever, who is taking on the Herculean technical and creative task of lighting what is reportedly the second-most expensive musical in the history of Broadway, “The Lost Boys.”
Along with director Michael Arden, Schriever is co-designing this adaptation that is set in the real world of California, but with a decidedly supernatural twist. In their conversation, Matt and Jen discuss the beautiful first-look images released by the production, how important lighting is for a flying effect, her working process with Arden, whether or not you need to watch the movie before seeing the musical, and much more.

RJ HIGTON and Company perform ‘Broadway Rhythm’ in GOTTA DANCE! photo by Christopher Duggan
Riki Kane Larimer presents GOTTA DANCE! — the first dance production to capture the original choreography of classic musicals including West Side Story, Singin’ in the Rain, A Chorus Line, Pippin, and others — all on one stage.
This extraordinary musical, conceived by Nikki Feirt Atkins of American Dance Machine and originally produced at The York Theatre Company, pays tribute to the brilliant work of Jerome Robbins, Gene Kelly, Billy Wilson, and others. Experience the movement, music and magic that has defined generations of Broadway and Hollywood dance and continues to inspire audiences today by preserving the work of some of our greatest choreographers. GOTTA DANCE! embodies true Broadway history.
Ulster American by David Ireland is a savagely funny play that dissects the intersection of identity politics, ego, privilege, and the Northern Irish “Troubles” with satirical precision.
On the evening before rehearsals begin for her new work, Ulster-born playwright Ruth Davenport (Geraldine Hughes) visits the home of English director Leigh Carver (Max Baker), along with Oscar-winning Hollywood star Jay Conway (Matthew Broderick) who has just arrived in London to star in the world premiere. What begins as a cordial gathering to discuss the upcoming production quickly descends into a brutal psychological brawl as egos, ideologies, and historical baggage collide. A theatrical hand grenade disguised as a drawing-room comedy, Ulster American explosively reveals some raw contradictions at the heart of modern storytelling and political posturing.

The musical that opened in the second year actually showed a meeting of that organization.
Finally, the one that opened in the third year mentioned the organization in its 11 o’clock number. What’s the organization? What are the musicals and the songs in which it’s cited?

Tru starring Jesse Tyler Ferguson photo by Marc J. Franklin
PF: Tru @ The House of the Redeemer, through May 3, 2026 Tony Award winner & five-time Emmy-nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Take Me Out, “Modern Family”) will star as Truman Capote in the first New York revival of Tru by Jay Presson Allen. Tony, Emmy, and Olivier Award winner Rob Ashford (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Frozen) directs this tour-de-force solo performance, set inside a historic Upper East Side mansion first owned by a great-granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt.
It’s December 1975 and Truman Capote is alone in his New York apartment, reeling from a crisis that cost him the elite social circle he adored. Drawn entirely from Capote’s own words, this funny and heartbreaking one-man play is an unflinching portrait of an artist at his breaking point, confronting the consequences of his most scandalous work. Performed in House of the Redeemer’s hyper-intimate Library, this strictly limited engagement offers a rare, immersive theatrical experience brought vividly to life by one of today’s most celebrated actors for an audience of only 99 patrons nightly.

One Actor. One Audience. One million reasons. Tony Award® winner Daniel Radcliffe returns to the stage in the hilarious and heartwarming play, Every Brilliant Thing.
In this one-of-a-kind solo show, a man looks back at his life and the glimmers of hope that carried him through. All told through a list of every wonderful, beautiful, and delightful thing—big, small, and everything in between—that makes life worth living.
After being performed in over 80 countries, this beloved hit finally arrives on Broadway for thirteen weeks only at The Hudson Theatre.
The Amazing Sex Life of Rabbits centers around a mysterious dinner between two couples that unexpectedly erupts into a gripping 21st-century class war. As the characters clash with their wits, nostalgia, and sexual tensions, the play raises provocative questions about relationships and the complexities of a reunion with an ex-spouse and her new partner.
What begins as an awkward evening between two couples evolves into a revealing battle of desire, economics, and personal history, gradually escalating through a series of surprising revelations that push the characters—and audience—into darker emotional territory.
The play features four characters, each portrayed by Richardson Cisneros-Jones as Carson, Rebecca Larsen as Danielle, Leigh Wulff as Elise, and Schoen Hodges as Bobby.
With Ferin Bergen, Maaike Laanstra-Corn, Marvelyn Ramirez, Elisa Tarquinio, and Gabriela Veciana
Deep in a dusty East Texas barn, five teenage girls raise calves and wrestle with what it means to be good – at school, at God, at girlhood. CALF SCRAMBLE is a fiercely original, darkly funny coming-of-age tale soaked in sweat, scripture, and competition, where faith is tangled with survival, and tenderness bucks like a wild animal.

Living together is one thing. Understanding each other? That can get messy.
Tim and Jake may be Deaf roommates sharing an apartment in the city, but not much else. They’re polar opposites—each with very different views on what it means to be Deaf in a hearing world. When it comes to taking out the trash, they spiral into a comic and insightful examination of their personal garbage—and their perceptions of each other’s lives.
Trash offers audiences an extraordinary theatrical experience. Performed almost exclusively in ASL (American Sign Language), the staging employs inventive devices that allow all audiences to understand the play (and each other) in new and profound ways.
A New Play Written by: David J. Glass Directed by: Michael Herwitz Starring Two-Time Tony Nominee Rob McClure, Michael Genet, Matthew Walker, and Jonny-James Kajoba
From the writer of Love + Science, praised by The New York Times for its “meticulous drama” and “precision… like a lab experiment,” Spare Parts is a sharp, darkly funny, and deeply unsettling new play that collides cutting-edge science with unchecked ambition.
When a billionaire obsessed with immortality funds radical aging research, ethical lines blur, power dynamics implode, and a shocking secret comes to light—one that turns the quest for longer life into a chilling examination of identity, consent, and what it really means to be human.
Spare Parts asks the question we’re all thinking but rarely say out loud: what does it cost to live forever?

MP: Mother Russia @ Signature Theatre, through March 22, 2026 Written by Lauren Yee Directed by Teddy Bergman Cast: Steven Boyer, Adam Chanler-Berat, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and David Turner
St. Petersburg, 1992: the Soviet Union has collapsed, McDonald’s has risen, and Evgeny, a young man at a loss, stumbles into a job working surveillance with his old friend Dmitri. Their target: Katya, a former pop singer with questionable allegiances and a mysterious past. As their lives chaotically intertwine, Evgeny finds himself falling in love and losing his bearings, all while grappling with the taste of freedom (and fast food) along the way.
History remembers Marcel Marceau as the world’s greatest mime. But before the spotlight, he was a young man in Nazi-occupied France, guiding Jewish children to safety with nothing but courage and imagination. In the shadows of World War II, Marcel on the Train reveals the man behind the invisible mask. Co-written by and starring Tony Award? nominee Ethan Slater (SpongeBob SquarePants, Wicked), this inventive new play shows us how, sometimes, the loudest resistance begins in the most quiet places.

Zachariah Munning has a natural sweetness that is unappreciated by his family. They long ago decided he was just lazy and dim. Zack’s calculating mother and cold-blooded brother are scheming to take advantage of a rich relative who is coming to visit. They believe her wealth might solve the problem of their failing business and are ready to sacrifice Zack for their own aims.
Spoiler alert, Zack comes out on top. “There is something here about the importance of kindness and the underdog winning that makes the audience exude sighs of contentment…It’s a preposterous happy-ever-after tale, but one that should melt the most cynical heart,” says Lyn Gardner of The Guardian.
Written by Harold Brighouse (1882 – 1958), one of “England’s most respected but neglected playwrights.” Harold Brighouse’s 1916 comedy, ZACK, had the misfortune of appearing after Hobson’s Choice, the one play that Brighouse is remembered for today. New York theatergoers might know Harold Brighouse as the author of Garside’s Career, produced by Mint Theater a year ago, when it received a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Revival.

Special Episode: Cost n’ Mayor on taking their unseriousness seriously in ’11 to Midnight’
Mar 03, 2026
On today’s episode, Matt Tamanini is in conversation with two of the most popular artists and creators on social media, Austin and Marideth Telenko, better known as Cost n’ Mayor. Not only is this husband-and-wife dancing and choreography duo a reliably feel-good part of your social media scrolling, but they are also the co-creators, choreographers, and stars of the new Off-Broadway dance show “11 to Midnight.”
Currently playing at the Orpheum Theatre, “11 to Midnight” tells the story of one hour at a New Year’s Eve apartment party, “where the music’s loud, the lights are soft, and time feels like it’s had a glass of champagne.”
In their conversation, Matt, Austin, and Marideth discuss the joy of dance, how their creative process differs from TikTok to the stage, their fire merch, and how an audience comment perfectly sums up the spirit of “11 to Midnight.”

PF+MP+JTF: Bigfoot! @ New York City Center, through April 26, 2026
Set in the town of Muddirt, a glow-in-the-dark oasis that exists somewhere between a chemical dump site and a nuclear power plant, BIGFOOT! is a larger-than-life musical tale of corrupt politicians, small town paranoia, and misunderstood youth. When that youth happens to be eight feet tall, innocent, and in dire need of electrolysis, it makes him more than a target. It makes him the subject of a can’t miss can’t-myth musical comedy.
The cast includes Tony Award-nominee Grey Henson (Mean Girls, Elf) as ‘Bigfoot,’ Tony Award-nominee Crystal Lucas-Perry (Ain’t No Mo’) as ‘Francine,’ Katerina McCrimmon (Funny Girl) as ‘Joanne,’ and Alex Moffat (The Cottage) as ‘Mayor,’ Grammy Award-nominee Jason Tam as ‘Doctor’, Jade Jones as ‘As Cast’, and covers Jake Letts, Kala Ross, and Mike Millan.
Featuring lyrics by Tony and Emmy Award nominee Amber Ruffin, a book by Ruffin and Kevin Sciretta (MST3K), music by David Schmoll (The Second City) and direction and choreography by Danny Meffford (Kimberly Akimbo, Dear Evan Hansen), BIGFOOT! is musical comedy’s next BIG thing!
BIGFOOT! is produced by Benson Drive Productions (George Strus, CEO) in association with Manhattan Theatre Club. Evan Bernardin Productions serves as General Manager. Casting is by Jason Thinger, CSA.

Three high-powered businesswomen meet for lunch every month to discuss their latest career triumphs, as they’ve done for decades. But the group is jolted when Katie, a bright-eyed 24-year-old new to the workforce, joins to navigate the world of corporate finance. As each of the women attempts to steer Katie towards what they’re certain is best, they’re forced to grapple with how much they already have and are willing to sacrifice to climb the corporate ladder. Shifting between sharp-tongued humor and the harsh realities of modern capitalism, this world premiere production explores themes of assimilation, intergenerational conflict, and gender politics in the workplace.
CHINESE REPUBLICANS by Alex Lin and directed by Chay Yew, features Jennifer Ikeda, Ben Langhorst, Jully Lee, Jodi Long, and Anna Zavelson and is written by Alex Lin. The design team includes Wilson Chin (Set Design), Anita Yavich (Costume Design), Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew (Lighting Design), Fabian Obispo (Original Music and Sound Design), and Hanah Kim (Projection Design).
Created by Elevator Repair Service Text: Ulysses by James Joyce Co-Direction and Dramaturgy by Scott Shepherd Directed by John Collins
Following last fall’s sold-out encore of Gatz—“The most remarkable achievement in theater of the decade” (New York Times)—Elevator Repair Service (ERS) takes on the Mount Everest of twentieth-century literature. James Joyce’s ULYSSES has fascinated, perplexed, scandalized, and/or defeated readers for over a century. In this New York City premiere, seven performers sit down for a sober reading but soon find themselves guzzling pints, getting in brawls, and committing debaucheries as they careen on a fast-forward tour through Joyce’s funhouse of styles. With humor, pathos, and a richly layered design, ERS stitches together verbatim passages from Joyce’s epic masterpiece into a two-and-a-half hour tour de force.

If future Tony-winners Brian Stokes Mitchell, Ron Rifkin, and Maryann Plunkett had attended a 1970’s Tony-winning musical, the first line of a second act solo would have resonated with them more than it would with most anyone else.
What’s the musical, what’s the solo, what’s that first line and why would it resonate?
