Austin Drummond’s Informant Fantasy: Ret FBI Coffindaffer Sets the Record Straight Aug 23, 2025
Show notes Jennifer Coffindaffer takes on one of the most bizarre claims to come out of the Austin Drummond case.
Drummond, accused of murdering four people in Lake County, Tennessee, and abandoning a baby in a stranger’s yard, has now declared that he was a confidential FBI informant. According to him, his “cover was blown,” and somehow the murders were connected to his work with federal authorities.
But does this claim make sense? Could Drummond have ever actually been an FBI source? And what does it really mean to be an informant inside the Bureau?
In this Break the Case episode, former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer draws on her 25 years of experience to explain how informant programs actually function. From quotas and categories of sources, to the checks, balances, and risks that agents face when handling informants, she provides an inside look at a world few ever get to see.
Coffindaffer also pulls back the curtain on Drummond’s background — his gang ties to the Vice Lords, his history behind bars, and his inappropriate relationship with a prison guard that reportedly produced a child. She explains why those details matter in evaluating both his credibility and his possible motive.
And perhaps most striking, she warns about the danger Drummond has now created for himself. By publicly declaring he was an FBI informant, he’s effectively placed a massive target on his back inside prison. Among gangs, being a “rat” is one of the most dangerous reputations you can carry — and Drummond just gave himself that label.
So was Drummond ever an informant? Maybe, in some minor capacity at some point. But Coffindaffer makes clear: it has nothing to do with the quadruple murder charges he now faces.
👉 Watch as Jennifer Coffindaffer separates fact from fiction, exposes the reality of FBI informant work, and explains why Drummond’s defense is likely just another desperate story.

Jennifer Coffindaffer BREAKS DOWN Kohberger’s Handwritten Note from Prison Aug 21, 2025
Show notes Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer pulls no punches in this urgent episode of Break The Case. Tonight, she takes us inside one of the first written communications ever made public from Idaho murder defendant Bryan Kohberger — a handwritten letter sent to the deputy warden of the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
The letter, dated July 30, 2025, shows Kohberger pleading for a transfer to a different prison block, claiming harassment, verbal threats, and mistreatment. But what’s most shocking isn’t his request — it’s the entitled tone of a man convicted of brutally taking four young lives who still believes he can manipulate his surroundings like he once tried to manipulate his victims.
Coffindaffer, who has analyzed countless high-profile criminals throughout her FBI career, breaks down not just the content of Kohberger’s note but also his sloppy, childlike handwriting. She compares his writing style to other infamous killers like Ted Bundy, Dennis Rader (BTK), and Danny Rolling — exploring what these details say about his mindset behind bars.
In this episode, you’ll hear why Jennifer believes Kohberger’s behavior is typical of manipulative inmates, why his complaints don’t hold up against the brutal reality of maximum-security prison life, and why families of the Idaho 4 victims must feel enraged by his continued attempts to control the narrative.
The conversation also expands to cases like Richard Allen (Delphi), the Menendez brothers, and the ongoing search for baby Emmanuel Haro — showing how justice, memory, and accountability must remain front and center in a system that too often forgets victims over time.
If you want unfiltered analysis and the truth about what really happens inside America’s most notorious cases, don’t miss this episode.

Bryan Kohberger Evidence BOMBSHELL: 10 Hidden IDs & New Police Reports Aug 04, 2025
Show notes Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer returns on Break The Case to deliver one of the most detailed breakdowns yet of the Idaho 4 murder investigation. With hundreds of newly released documents and police reports surfacing, Coffindaffer takes us step by step through the chaotic first hours at 1122 King Road — where officers faced confusion, miscommunication, and unimaginable horror.
In this powerful episode, Coffindaffer reveals newly unsealed details about the first responder reports, including conflicting identifications of the victims’ locations, statements from surviving roommates Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funk, and the challenges officers faced in documenting a crime scene unlike anything Moscow Police had ever seen. She explains why mistakes and inconsistencies in early reports don’t equal lies — and pushes back against the online attacks targeting Dylan Mortensen.
Coffindaffer also sheds light on one of the most chilling pieces of evidence: 10 hidden IDs found in a glove box linked to Bryan Kohberger. At least two of those IDs reportedly belonged to women he worked with years before, suggesting a disturbing pattern of fixation and predatory behavior.
The episode further explores new revelations about what Bethany Funk heard that night, the role of the DoorDash delivery, and how law enforcement pieced together a meticulous timeline despite Kohberger’s attempts to wipe his digital footprint. Coffindaffer contrasts family reactions to these releases, sharing the Gonzalez family’s frustration and the Chapens’ heartfelt public statement honoring Ethan.
With unflinching honesty and decades of experience, Coffindaffer cuts through speculation and misinformation to bring clarity to one of the most closely watched murder cases in recent history.

Jennifer Coffindaffer & Philip Dubé: The TRUTH About Kohberger’s Appeal Rights Aug 03, 2025
Show notes In this powerful episode of Break The Case with Jennifer Coffindaffer, former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer is joined by veteran Los Angeles defense attorney Philip Dubé to tackle the big legal question on everyone’s mind: Can Bryan Kohberger still appeal his guilty plea in the Idaho murders case?

The discussion centers on the landmark case Garza v. Idaho, a 2019 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that changed how appellate rights are viewed when a defendant pleads guilty and waives appeals. Jennifer and Philip walk through how this precedent could apply to Kohberger, who recently pleaded guilty to the murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, receiving life without parole instead of the death penalty.
Could Kohberger attempt to use Garza to file an appeal despite his waiver? Would Ann Taylor, his defense attorney, be required to file a notice of appeal if he asked her to — even if she believes there are no valid grounds? Philip Dubé explains the process step by step, from filing notices of appeal to what happens if appellate courts find no legitimate issues. He also explores why pursuing an appeal could backfire and put Kohberger at risk of reinstating death penalty eligibility.
Jennifer raises key concerns about the plea deal, the lack of a full confession or disclosure from Kohberger, and the limited forensic evidence revealed so far. Together, they dive deep into what the next legal moves could mean for the victims’ families, the justice system, and Kohberger himself as the September 3rd deadline for appeal approaches.
If you want unfiltered legal analysis, straight answers, and expert insight into one of the most closely watched cases in America, this is an episode you cannot miss.

Jennifer Coffindaffer & John Moore: LDS Community Betrayal Exposed Jul 25, 2025
Show notes In this powerful episode of Break The Case with Jennifer Coffindaffer, we uncover a story of abuse, betrayal, and eventual accountability that spans decades. Jennifer sits down with John Moore, the former husband of Valerie — a woman whose life was forever changed by childhood sexual abuse, systemic corruption, and the devastating cover-up that followed.
Valerie was a vibrant young woman: a scholar, an athlete, a beauty queen, and a deeply faithful member of her community. But behind the idyllic appearance of a small Utah town, she was being horrifically abused by men she should have been able to trust — including a Utah Highway Patrol officer. For two years, Valerie endured violence, manipulation, and terror, including the cold-blooded killing of her dog as a threat to keep her silent.
When Valerie and John tried to bring her abuser to justice in the 1990s, their pleas were ignored. Internal affairs downplayed her claims, fabricated details, and ultimately buried the investigation. For decades, Valerie was branded as unstable — a smear tactic designed to silence her truth and protect the abuser’s reputation.
It wasn’t until 2020, years after Valerie’s passing, that her son Ryan and John teamed up with investigator Mike Anderson and attorney Richard Lambert to uncover the cover-up. What they found confirmed Valerie’s story and exposed shocking misconduct within the Department of Public Safety. Their persistence led to a historic public apology from the state of Utah in 2020, decades after Valerie was silenced.
This conversation also highlights the book Hometown Betrayal by Emily Benedict, which chronicles Valerie’s story and the fight to uncover the truth, as well as the nonprofit Generation All, created to provide resources, community, and advocacy for survivors of sexual abuse and their families.
This is a story about Valerie’s courage, the ripple effects of trauma, and the relentless pursuit of justice — even when powerful institutions work to keep it buried.

“Justice Denied”: Coffindaffer Slams Shocking Plea Deal in Meline Sto Case Jul 21, 2025
Show notes Outrage is growing in Florida after convicted child killer Stephan Sterns accepted a surprise plea deal in the case of 12-year-old Meline Sto — sparing himself a full public trial despite overwhelming evidence of abuse and murder.
Former FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down what happened inside the courtroom and why she believes this “sneaky plea” robbed Meline of true justice.
According to investigators, Sterns exploited and abused Meline for years, beginning when she was just 11. Disturbing videos and photos recovered from his phone documented the abuse, while forensic and surveillance evidence tied him to her murder. Authorities say Meline was strangled at night, her body later staged in a car to make it appear she had been dropped off at school.
Despite what Coffindaffer calls an “airtight case,” prosecutors allowed Sterns to plead nolo contendere — meaning he didn’t even admit guilt. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, but avoided facing witnesses, testimony, and evidence in a jury trial.
    Coffindaffer doesn’t hold back:
    • She calls Sterns’ final courtroom words — “I’m going to miss her… I’ll never disgrace her memory” — grotesque and insulting.
    • She blasts prosecutors for merging the murder charge into the plea instead of trying the case.
    • And she highlights the disturbing absence of Meline’s mother, who allowed years of abuse and failed to speak for her daughter in court.
This case raises critical questions: Why did prosecutors cut this deal? Did the justice system betray Meline Sto one final time? And what does this mean for future child victim cases?
Jennifer Coffindaffer exposes the truth, demands accountability, and speaks for the victim in this powerful episode.
