Ep. 152: Move Slow & Protect Things May 16, 2024
    Show notes

A decade ago Facebook’s internal motto was “Move Fast and Break Things.” The broken pieces are all around us and Big Tech and now AI has not learned.
In today’s podcast Kelly & Chelsea talk through some recent AI and Big Tech headlines through the biblical worldview. It is clear to see that “Move Fast and Break Things” is still the general mantra. Brave Parenting recommends the alternative: Move Slow and Protect Things (such as childhood, human creativity, sacredness, marriage, etc.).

Ep. 151: Social Media Reform May 10, 2024
    Show notes

Social Media is a hot mess – which is making young people a hot mess of mental health, lack of purpose, and a failure to flourish. Everyone knows this, but how can social media be reformed? Change must come. Will it be voluntarily through Big Tech, legislatively through Government, or wisely and bravely through Parents?

In this episode, Kelly & Chelsea evaluate the present federal and state legislative initiatives to reform social media. By explaining the almost (but not completely) insurmountable obstacles, they demonstrate to parents where the hope of change really lies.

Ep. 150: Big Tech & Sexual Exploitation May 01, 2024
    Show notes

It is time for our review of the 2024 Dirty Dozen List! This is the Top 12 Entities contributing to sexual exploitation as identified by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE). To no surprise, BIG TECH leads the way. In this episode, Kelly & Chelsea review the six that most impact parents raising kids. This content is so important to know! Maybe one of our most important episodes all year long.

**Warning** There are a lot of references to CSAM, nothing explicit but probably too much for young kids to listen along.

Be sure to check out the entire Dirty Dozen list, review their evidence, and consider responding to their call to action!

Ep. 148: AI Influence in Entertainment Apr 17, 2024
    Show notes

When you think about AI, how often do movies like Terminator or The Matrix come to mind? Futuristic and dystopian depictions of how AI will influence mankind has been a theme in the entertainment industry for almost a century! In this episode, Kelly & Chelsea review five portrayals of AI in the movies and consider each through the lens of our Biblical worldview. The goal is to help parents consider what is true and what is false about these portrayals in order to help kids think critically about the role AI will play in reality.

    Ep. 144: AI Influencers Feb 28, 2024
    Show notes

AI influencers are ostensibly benign, but when you pull back the curtain of AI-generated “magic” avatars and the aesthetic of perfection that AI creates, these AI influencers actually represent a dangerous and deeper theological and philosophical issue. What does it mean to post online under your likeness? Who really owns your likeness? Does it matter to anyone if AI takes over the modeling and influencing jobs of the world?

The bottom line (spoiler alert) is is that this impacts kids WAY more than it impacts adults – and this is precisely why EVERY parent needs to listen.
