    Brand New Father Podcast

Brand New Father Podcast is a place to find encouragement, real life stories, struggles, wins and some lessons to help you become a better dad today than you were yesterday!
Millennials were supposed to change the parenting status quo and make engaged fatherhood seem totally unexceptional. Even, if we are the most engaged, involved generation of fathers in history (which we probably are), the everyday grind of fatherhood is far from easy.
This podcast is my outlet for sharing my story and opportunity to connect with those who share the same values, and want to join me. Let’s build a community where new dads can be heard and understood.

028 Why I quit my job to stay home Feb 10, 2016
    Show notes

I had always prided myself on my independence, providing for my family, and most of all not depending on anyone else but myself.

I was working hard for success, power, fame, tropical getaways, even for my abs that I don’t have any more thanks to the stubborn sympathy weight. I did all of this to feel good about myself.

But now, I just want to be with my family.

026 First night-watch with the new baby Feb 08, 2016
    Show notes

Our little one was 9 days old at the time. Since MJ needed to get a full-night sleep so bad, I offered to stay a night in the living room with the baby.

That night-watch boosted my confidence a lot. The fact that I was with her on my own and I was able to do everything for her was awesome. It was definitely a learning experience and one that I’m proud I had guts to take on.

023 Expecting help the first weeks with the baby, but not getting much Feb 05, 2016
    Show notes

I planned to stay home for the first 4 weeks, so we figured it’s all good. With two of us we could handle pretty much anything.

    The reality was something different!

I personally hate to complain. I believe, that anything that doesn’t kill, I can handle. And we did handle and manage the first weeks and the first month, and even the first year. But I cannot say that we thrived… the first month was a constant uphill grind.

Tune in, to listen what I would do differently second time around!

022 Rant about push presents Feb 04, 2016
    Show notes

Today’s episode is quite different from all the other ones…

No offense to anyone, but… a PUSH PRESENT, I mean, common!?

Isn’t your newborn child good enough gift that you have to demand other stuff as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally get it if a dad feels like giving the mom something thoughtful - that’s fine.

But to go out and specifically demand a certain high-end item? That’s just wrong!

And it's not really a present if you demand it like a spoiled 2 year old.
