Blueshirt Underground: NY Rangers Radio

Blueshirt Underground Radio was founded in June of 2009 and is now in its ninth year of being the ONLY live radio broadcast devoted to the New York Rangers!

Hosted by lifelong Ranger fans Eddie “The Mouth” Gieck and Jim Schmiedeberg, Blueshirt Underground Radio is not some boring podcast that just drones on and on. It’s a lively discussion of everything related to the Rangers, where nothing is off-limits. Rants about the players, announcers, and opponents are commonplace, and no one is off limits. It is a show that prides itself in dishing out tough love to the team it adores.

Not only is the show funny and entertaining, it is also fully interactive. It’s the only radio show you can call into any time of year and talk Ranger hockey. Blueshirt Underground Radio: New York Rangers Talk 12/15/15 Dec 22, 2015

Show notes

Monday December 21st Blueshirt Underground Radio takes to the internet airwaves with a team in free fall, and a fan base on the verge of anarchy. The Rangers are plummeting, and the fans are angry at everyone, from the head coach all the way down, including the (gasp!) goaltender. It's Lord of the Flies out in Rangerstown, and your two favorite "Piggys" are here to talk about it. Who or what is to blame? How does it get fixed? Can it be fixed? When will this madness end? The calendar may say Christmas is almost here, but tonight will be more like Festivus, with an airing of grievances sure to take place. Phone calls are always welcome, we want to hear your thoughts on what the hell is going on. Jim and Eddie are putting on the hazmat suits, to get to the bottom of this toxic disaster. It's sure to be another great episode of Blueshirt Underground Radio, one you won't want to miss! We are also active on Social Media! Oh Joe...... Jim and Eddie are back tonight at 9PM with another show recapping some of the worst Ranger hockey under the Alain Vigneault watch, But rather than wallow in self pity and make excuses, we will discuss the reasons for all the losing and more importantly insult the players, general managers and coaches that are responsible for this mess. We love our Rangers but we need to vent ! So join us for what may prove to be the most cathartic show of the season !

Blueshirt Underground Radio: LIVE FROM GILA RIVER CASINO ARENA! 11/7 Nov 08, 2015

Show notes

Tonight, we take Blueshirt Underground Radio to the streets for a live remote. While Eddie mans the BSU Radio studios, Jim will be live outside the Gila River Casino Arena in Glendale, AZ, before the Rangers take on the Arizona Coyotes. We'll be mixing it up with Ranger fans outside the arena, and looking out for Anthony Duclair jerseys. Hoepfully we'll get fans to call in from outside the arena, and if you've listened to our live remotes in the past, you know anything can happen, like meeting JT Miller's Mom, or hassling Miss Arizona. Plus, alcohol is sure to be involved, The Underground is invading Arizona, it's going to be a sea of blue on Coyote Avenue. Come one, come all for this rare live event because as Gorilla Monsoon used to say "It's gonna be a happening!" LET'S GO RANGERS!
