The book looks at how the guitar took shape as the modern instrument we know today, but also its place in American culture and how it went from being a fringe instrument to reaching the point where it outsells every other instrument combined.
Tim talks about the process of having a guitar built for him, why everything important that happened to the guitar actually happened between 1928 and 1941 and why people complained that the guitar ruined old-time music...plus much more.
