    035 - Jim Moore (GQ Magazine) Sep 18, 2017
    Show notes

My guest this week is GQ Creative Director, Jim Moore.

If you’ve picked up an issue in the last 30 years, Jim has had a hand in it. Whether it’s picking the latest pieces for a season, styling athletes and actors or hosting a video series. Jim Moore is the creative thread that weaves together the magazine and is responsible for creating the GQ look.

Jim and I spoke about how he arrived at the magazine and worked his way to the top. We also discuss the friendships he made along the way and how they’ve influenced his life. (Spoiler Alert: One of them is Helmut Lang).

Last but not least, we talk about GQ's latest collaboration with the GAP featuring the coolest designers on the planet.

My guest this week is Chris Black.

Chris is the man behind Done to Death Projects and Public Announcement.

Chris and I talked about the rise of merch culture, NY versus LA, his love of John Mayer and the art of the hustle.

We go all over the place on this one, but in all honesty, it’s a like lot Chris himself – this guy is in everything.

The answer is the acclaimed menswear blog Permanent Style, and its founder Simon Crompton is my guest this week.

Simon and I discussed the values of bespoke clothing, “rules” of classic menswear, and the psyche of the male peacock.
