Stay ConnectedA comedy game design podcast by two guys who know nothing about comedy nor game design.
Join Trevor Scott and Ben Slinger as they take prompts from random word generators, movies, game titles and more and turn them into occasionally hilarious but always interesting game designs.
Jumping into a game of What 3 Words, Ben and Trevor create some fun video game ideas such as:
playing as a Telecom Justice, in a world where wireless communication has been banned;
booby trapping a verandah during a neighbourly dispute;
fighting back against giant space bees emerging from the centre of the Earth;
and more!
Ben and Trev jump into creating games based off of random movies this week. Some of the games include.
Click Pitch is played, and games are improvised! Ben and Trevor come up with games such as:
A wacky race across the world;
A heavy metal band faces the apocalypse;
Forces of heaven and hell vie for the possession of God's fiddle;
and more!
This episode Ben and Trevor are mixing things up by playing What 3 Words to get their random prompts. They discuss weird games including:
Playing some Ramped Up Click Pitch, Ben and Trevor invent some video games from whole cloth, such as:
a character who finds their autobiography from the future, and must decide how best to use it;
a far future society re-discovering the technology of our present day;
waking up with Elvis's signature tattooed in a sensitive place;
and more!
Taking a break from the standard video game design shenanigans this week, Ben and Trev review some of their favourite dark web games this week. The games include
Improvised game designs from random movies, go! This week:
An old captain is haunted by the ghost of the shark he once fought;
A Tiktok trend results in a horrifying night for some babysitters;
Two himbos find themselves stuck on a ghost ship;
and more!
Ben and Trev return to the random movie pile to gain inspiration for game ideas. They discussed the following games, that unfortunately (or fortunately) don't exist.
Ben and Trevor accidentally do a horror themed episode based on random movie prompts, such as:
Freddy vs Jason (but they're just twin brothers);
A social deduction game where you try to determine who is an angel;
A horror roguelike where you have the power to see who the killer will attack next;
and more!
Multiplayer games are in vogue right now, because Epic Games have just released Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN). Ben and Trev discuss a bunch of multiplayer focused games that might be possible in UEFN, but probably not. Games discussed include
