Show notes
Hear from Brent Pike how his passion for upland bird hunting and an inability to find the gear he wanted to use led to the evolution of Pyke Gear.
As Brent Pike explains it, Pyke gear was born out of necessity. A lifelong outdoorsman with a passion for upland bird hunting he was continually looking for gear to wear into the uplands that seemingly did not exist. Be it too heavy, not breathable or simply unable to withstand the abuse of the uplands, Brent could not find the right combination of quality and function. So, like any entrepreneurial-minded person would, he set out to solve the problem himself. Fast forward a few years and Pyke Gear has already earned its place in the uplands and continues to build a respected reputation among hunters.

About | Pyke Gear
“Pyke Gear was born out of necessity. Having been an outdoorsman his whole life, brand creator, Brent Pike has worn (and worn out) twenty year’s worth of all the popular upland garments. Pyke Gear is here to replace the waxed cotton jackets, heavy pants, and wool shirts you’ve seen in magazine shoots for the past 30 years. Traveling Wingshooters and upland hunters have not been given the option of 21st century materials that are as versatile as they are comfortable. Pyke Gear was developed from thousands of boot steps in hot, cold, windy and rainy weather across North America. Now you will have the clothing designed by modern hunters with world class fabrics that will deliver an even greater bird hunting experience.”
