Robert Horry on Steph's roast of LeBron, hostile fan bases, his NBA 2K exclusion and Tom Brady's parenting dilemma on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jul 21, 2022
    Show notes

Robert Horry and the crew start right away with Steph Curry's jabs at LeBron and the city of LA during his ESPY's monologue, and how he might have reignited his rivalry with the city of Boston. But Rob feels like that city can't possibly hate him any more than they already do, and talks about other fan bases that get fired up about their teams. Plus Rob talks about how obnoxious Auburn fans were to him, how the city of Boston has treated LeBron, and why AAU fights are running rampant across the country. Rob also gets a little hot when he finds out he's not featured in the new NBA 2K game, and talks about how Steph's rating should NOT be a 99 in the new game because he doesn't play good defense. And of course the Zach Wilson cougar drama takes a hilarious turn, Rob throws in his take on Tom Brady's parenting challenges as a famous athlete, and why Rob still goes to the mall. An amazing Big Shot of the Week and a round of Cougar Town round out the show!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry applauds Ja Morant's confidence, thinks the Lakers would trade LeBron for Durant and says he could never officiate an NBA game on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jul 13, 2022
    Show notes

A wild week on the Big Shot Bob podcast starts with Rob's COVID false positive and Harper's story behind his surgery scar. Then we dive into the Ja Morant story - which is being spun wildly by the media - and Rob applauds Ja's confidence by saying it's exactly where it needs to be to play in the NBA, because confidence drives your game forward. And with the Jazz showing interest in trading Donovan Mitchell, it shows that they're ready to fully rebuild, and Rob thinks there are very few guys in the league today that are untouchable. And on trades, he thinks that if the Lakers wanted to flip LeBron James for Kevin Durant, it's a move that they would have to make! Speaking of LeBron, we touch on his commentary about Brittney Griner, and Rob jokes about Richard Jefferson's adventure as an NBA referee and why he could never ref an NBA game! And we round the show out with a new trivia game called Run-and-Gun.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry thinks Kevin Durant will stay in Brooklyn, wants to see Kyrie on the Lakers, and thinks the Minnesota trade for Rudy Gobert is the worst trade ever on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jul 07, 2022
    Show notes

Robert Horry comes to us live from Kansas City, as his son competes in a huge AAU tournament, and Rob talks about how teams for Durant, Westbrook and LeBron are all based in KC for some reason. Of course we dive into the Kevin Durant drama, and Rob thinks it's weird that today's players always want to play with their friends instead of a team that wants to win. He also believes that KD will stay put in Brooklyn because the asking price is just too high for him. Plus Rob says he would love to see Kyrie Irving on the Lakers, and thinks the tweet from Jeanie Buss the other night was reflective of making tough decisions like that without a guy like Kobe to give her an honest opinion. Rob also really likes the addition of Dejounte Murray, is unsure about John Wall with the Clippers, but feels strongly that the Rudy Gobert trade to Minnesota was the worst trade ever! We round out the show with a Britney Griner update, a Big Shot of the Week to Ja Morant, and a round of "Movin on Up"!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry was in Houston for the Rockets drafting Jabari Smith, tries the figure out the Knicks moves and speaks to the legacy of Kevin Durant on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jun 29, 2022
    Show notes

Robert Horry spent the week in Houston doing Draft events for the Rockets, and was on hand when Houston picked Jabari Smith at #3. He says Jabari reminds him of Kevin Durant, in that he's skinny and athletic, and likes the pick for the Rockets as they start to rebuild. Draft memories also boil up for Rob, and we find out that he actually attended the 1992 NBA Draft ALONE, he had no one with him at the time and thinks he might be the only player to ever go to the Draft by himself. Plus we talk about partying with your kids, Rob's wrestling adventure in Las Vegas, and we all try to figure out the Knicks moves as they try to acquire Jalen Brunson. And we ask Rob what Kyrie's option pick-up means for the future of Kevin Durant, who really needs to win to solidify his NBA legacy. Plus Rob never misses a chance to dump on his agents as we discuss Freddie Freeman's emotional return to Atlanta, then firing his agent, and Rob speaks to the importance of staying involved with your agent. We close it out with a round of Rapid Fire - including questions about motorcycles, Rob's career aspirations, and the misadventures of teenage boys.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

    Show notes

We then go all in on the Finals recap as the Warriors win the title, and Rob has big props for both Coach Kerr and Klay Thompson on the heels of a huge Finals performance. And of course we discuss the legacy of Steph Curry now that he has a Finals MVP, and Robert disagrees with Draymond Green's sentiment about never being able to recapture the feeling of your first championship - this coming from a guy who's won seven! Plus we dive into Steph's place in NBA history, Charles Barkley's on-going feud with Kevin Durant, and what the future holds for Kyrie Irving as he and the Nets hit an "impasse". We hand out a great Big Shot of the Week, and play a hilarious round of Google Feud.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry reverses course and picks the Warriors to win the NBA Finals, plus fake Clay Thompson and the Montrezl Harrell arrest on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jun 15, 2022
    Show notes

We open this week's loaded up show with the story of B-Dog's broken arm - how it happened, and how stupid injuries have cost us in the past. And Robert Horry says the Celtics blew their shot in the Finals by losing Game 5 - a game where Steph Curry didn't hit a single three-pointer - so he reverses course and says the Warriors will win the Finals in seven. Plus we joke about Steph's t-shirt trolling of Boston, the wild story of the fake Clay Thompson getting banned for life, and Montrezl Harrell being charged with drug trafficking for having three pounds of weed in his car. We also get an update on Britney Griner, share advice from our fathers, do some story time with Robert Horry, and offer up the Big Shot of the Week - and maybe the YEAR - to John Cena for fulfilling the dream of a young teenager with Downs Syndrome who was forced to escape from Mariupol in the wake of the war. And we round out the week with a hilarious round of Black Crime or White Crime.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry talks NBA Finals, Draymond's attitude on the court, preferential treatment and Rasheed's impact on Anthony David on the Big Shot Bob Podcast Jun 08, 2022
    Show notes

Robert Horry opens the show this week with a random conversation about who is the best Batman, and who was the best Joker... which leads to a conversation about classic movie soundtracks and iconic movies that we've never seen. Plus Rob talks about his trip to New York for the NBA Finals party, and meeting rappers and performers that knew who he was but he didn't know them because he's an old man now. Rob also has advice for Al Horford and the Celtics, and lays out exactly what they need to do to win the NBA Finals - and in turn where Draymond Green's attitude on the court pays off, and where it hurts the Warriors. And Rob does NOT agree with Draymond's sentiment that he has earned preferential treatment. Plus Rob thinks the addition of Rasheed Wallace to the Lakers coaching staff will pay big dividends for Anthony Davis, even if they don't get along. And does Rob ever get recognized out in public, Aaron Donald's pay raise, an inspiring Big Shot of the Week, and an NBA Finals edition of the NBA Emoji Game!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry picks the Celtics to win the NBA Finals and explains why Darvin Ham will be successful in LA on the Big Shot Bob Pod Jun 01, 2022
    Show notes

On the heels of an epic Eastern Conference Finals, Robert Horry talks about a player's mentality going into a Game 7 scenario and how he handled them over his years in the league. At which point we revisit the Boston and Miami series, and Rob systematically breaks down why he feels his 94 Rockets would have beaten the 94 Bulls even if they had Michael Jordan. Sidebars aside, Rob gets back to today's NBA and picks the Boston Celtics to defeat the Warriors in 7 games, and explains why Darvin Ham will be a successful coach as the new hire for his LA Lakers. Colin Cowherd sparks a debate about Steph Curry's impact on the game versus that of Michael Jordan's, we discuss the possibility of Kaepernick going to the Raiders, hand out a remarkable Big Shot of the Week, and cap it off with a great round of Walmart or Waffle House!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Robert Horry thinks Luka is trying to do too much for Dallas, hates the lack of NBA defense, and thinks Nick Saban was buttering up donors on the Big Shot Bob Pod May 23, 2022
    Show notes

We open the show with Luka getting postered by Andrew Wiggins, as the Mavericks fall to a 3-0 deficit, and Rob thinks a lot of this is due to Luka playing a different game against Golden State than he did against Phoenix. And the Eastern Conference Finals are suffering at the hands of injury, and Rob thinks Boston needs to find some answers or get ready to exit before the FInals. Plus Chuck's profane but hilarious war with the Warriors fans, and Nick Saban vs Jimbo Fisher in the NIL battle, Plus, party schools, peeing in the shower, and John Daly's horrible smoking and eating habits at the PGA Championship leads to a wild discussion about how people eat and the weird things they like. A classy Big Shot of the Week rounds out the show, with a round of a new game called "2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad".See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

    Show notes

It's another huge playoff week, and we open the show by talking about Rob's Q&A on Twitter during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Of course we also dive right into the Pat Beverly drama, and Rob's one big issue with all his nonsense from Monday. Plus Rob's take on the Suns epic Game 7 collapse from a guy who has played in a TON of big games and hilarious audio GOLD from Draymond Green and Kendrick Perkins that leaves the show in stitches. Rob also weighs in on Jimmy Buckets going off in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and he thinks that the red-hot Mavericks have a legit shot at taking down the Warriors.
