Landon beings by discussing why Sunday may have proved that Dallas is a below-average team that’s had bouts of greatness rather than vice-versa. John laments how the issues against Philadelphia have been issues all season, discussing primarily the drops.

John breaks down why he thinks Dak Prescott and the receivers deserve equal blame for the passing game woes vs Philadelphia why also taking the time to let out his frustration at the speed-option play-call into the short side of the field. Landon discusses Prescott’s performance and both agree that they aren’t dissuaded from giving Prescott a big contract in the future. The guys also discuss Chidobe Awuzie’s poor play while also critiquing the defensive coaching staff

After the pleasantries, the guys catch up on all the latest injuries news and notes surrounding the Cowboys roster. After that, Landon and John dive into their review of what’s wrong with the Cowboys team. Landon discusses how execution is killing the defense and John piggybacks off that by lamenting over Dallas’ tackling issues. The guys discuss why a healthy and effective Leighton Vander Esch is missed.

As far as the offense, John talks about Dak Prescott’s slight regression in recent weeks and Landon breaks down how mental lapses and poor situational play have stunted the offense in recent weeks. The guys also discuss the issues with the wide receivers, as they take a look at how injuries are affecting Amari Cooper.

The guys also make sure to preview the Rams game. John discusses why he thinks the Rams should be favored to win while Landon breaks down how meaningless the game is in regards to the playoff picture.

To end the show, the guys give some of their favorite potential head coaching candidates while John gives one reason for the Cowboys to be optimistic.

In the latest episode of the “Best Coast Boys” podcast, hosts Landon McCool and the Dallas Morning News’ John Owning welcome guest Marcus Mosher of the Locked On Cowboys Podcast to talk about the Bills lost and the state of the Cowboys

After the pleasantries, the guys dive into the Cowboys’ loss to the Bills. Marcus begins by stating the issues with the execution at numerous levels while John specifically looks at the issues on defense while also giving praise to DeMarcus Lawrence, Kerry Hyder and Trysten Hill. Landon discusses the defense’s scheme and if it was too simplistic against Buffalo. John breaks down Dak Prescott’s play.

After that, the guys talk about the current state of the Cowboys. Marcus reveals why he doesn’t believe the Cowboys will make the playoffs while John makes an argument for why the Cowboys could make the playoffs. All three agree that Dallas likely doesn’t win a game even if they make the playoffs.

To end the show, the guys discuss how they want Dallas to attack the coaching staff if they do, in fact, fire Jason Garrett once the season is over. Marcus states why he thinks the Cowboys are going big game hunting, John makes an argument for a offensive coordinator in the AFC while Landon thinks the Cowboys should dip into the college ranks to find their next head coach.
