MARATHON POD: Covering it ALL, from Josh Rosen to Kyler Murray to Antonio Brown to Landon Collins and more Mar 06, 2019
    Show notes

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler, Pete Hailey and John Keim are here in this Redskins Talk podcast, which was supposed to be a long one but turned into a longgggggggggg one. After some chair complaints off the top, the guys go heavy on Josh Rosen. They evaluate everything, from his rookie year to the price it'd cost to get him to what worries them about him and how they feel about the move in general. That leads into a discussion on Kyler Murray, with thoughts on whether the Cardinals taking him is a done deal and how the Redskins could be interested in jumping up to grab him if they don't. Yes, repeat: The Redskins may want to get Murray if he slips past 1. Eventually, they move onto Antonio Brown, where the four hosts again look at potential compensation for the WR and how Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder factor into the decision. The final football segment includes rapid fire thoughts on Landon Collins and Preston Smith, and then it's shtick time. JP, Mitch, Pete and Ajay are soon playing in a fundraising poker tournament, so Keim was asked to rate each guy's potential at the table. If you like podcasts that answer questions on all the big moves you're hearing about, but also feature analysis on Mitch's weird faces, JP's diet and sweat and Pete nearly getting killed, then this is the episode for you.

NFL COMBINE, DAY 3: A stacked final show that includes Bruce Allen, PFTCommenter and Doug Williams Mar 01, 2019
    Show notes

Yet again, the Redskins Talk crew saved their best for last, as they wrap up their time in Indy with a juicy show. After a quick intro from JP Finlay and Mitch Tischler, you'll hear from Bruce Allen (2:55), who spoke to reporters on Friday. Among the things Allen touched on: How the Redskins' draft board impacts their plans, Joe Flacco, Adrian Peterson hating the term 'old,' meeting with Kyler Murray and what Dan Snyder's mood is like. After, JP and Mitch bring on Ben Standig to react (13:51), which leads to discussions about Reuben Foster and cap casualties - or a lack thereof. Next comes the interview you've all been waiting for: JP's back-and-forth with PFTCommenter, Big Cat and Hank from the Pardon My Take podcast (28:49). If you want next-level solutions to the QB issue and a bold free agency approach, you'll love this segment. The end of the action is devoted to some quick thoughts from Doug Williams (43:41), a random forum on TV/movie tastes and JP getting mad at Bryce Harper. If you like podcasts where Ben Standig gets super weird about what his nickname is and two of the biggest pods on the planet collide, then this is the episode for you. ***Thanks for tuning in all week. Indy was fun, and the listeners are what make it that way***

NFL COMBINE, DAY 2: Jay Gruden speaks on the Redskins and the 2019 class, plus an ex-agent explains how the team can free up money Feb 28, 2019
    Show notes

It's Day 2 in Indy, and Darrel Young was nice enough to join JP Finlay and Mitch Tischler for this edition of Redskins Talk. The three chat a bit off the top and set the scene before tossing to Jay Gruden's media availability (3:12), as the head coach spoke with reporters at the Combine. In that segment, you'll hear Gruden look inward at his own roster as well as evaluate the next wave of pro talent, plus a ton of other important issues. After, JP, Mitch and DY react to Gruden's comments and then welcome in Joel Corry, an ex-agent and salary cap expert. While at the table, Corry (28:52) walks the guys through various ways the cash-strapped 'Skins can free up some more money to perhaps pursue a QB or free agents. He also tries to draw up what an Adrian Peterson contract would look like. If you like podcasts where Mitch's top button movement continues and someone with a TON of salary cap knowledge will make you a more intelligent football fan, then this is the episode for you.

NFL COMBINE, DAY 1: Chris Simms pumps up Drew Lock big-time and the guys evaluate Redskins' first round options Feb 27, 2019
    Show notes

JP Finlay and Mitch Tischler's first day at the NFL Combine had a little bit of everything, and you'll get all those pieces in this episode of Redskins Talk. The show starts with Larry Michael on set as well, and the voice of the 'Skins breaks down various topics, including how the team's draft board gets built and the level of maturity that JP has. After that segment, the guys toss to an interview with Chris Simms, who drops some KNOWLEDGE about QBs (18:02). Included: Why Colt McCoy isn't that different from Alex Smith, why Kyler Murray is his top-rated option and why Drew Lock is higher in his mind than Dwayne Haskins, which is a very unique stance. Following Simms' stop at the table, JP and Mitch bring in Ben Standig to react and also look at non-QBs who'd make sense for the Burgundy and Gold at #15 (34:52). Lastly, Pete Hailey joins the show (49:32) and puts the guys through a Wonderlic/WonderShtick test, which Mitch dazzles in. If you like podcasts where you learn a ton about 2019 passers and Mitch's top button is a flash point, then this is the episode for you.

Debating the pros & cons of trading for Antonio Brown and identifying players & positions to watch at the NFL Combine Feb 26, 2019
    Show notes

JP Finlay is riding with Mitch Tischler (along with Ourisman Automotive of Virginia, of course) to the airport for their trip to Indianapolis and Pete Hailey joined via the phone for this edition of Redskins Talk. To begin, the guys look at Antonio Brown, how much he'd cost the Redskins to acquire and whether the move is worth it. They then position themselves on a scale of whether Washington should ultimately make the trade for AB. Next, they turn their attention to the NFL Combine, since that'll be the big storyline in the league this week and because the pod will be in the center of it all. What players and positions are JP, Mitch and Pete going to be monitoring? Then, they quickly look at the Kirk Cousins and Bryce Harper contract sagas, explaining why Kirk's was more annoying. Lastly, the guys all come up with one question for the Redskins' decision-makers in Indy before Mitch gets out of the car to get things movin' at the airport. If you like podcasts where JP's arms defy the odds and the hosts come up with and repeatedly use the phrase "Twerk Impact Zone," then this is the episode for you.

A big announcement about the Combine, debunking the Landon Collins hype and naming some dream additions Feb 22, 2019
    Show notes

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey aren't playing around on this Redskins Talk, as they drop a big announcement right off the top relating to the NFL Combine. Here's a hint - Go download the MyTeams app. After that excitement, they quickly review some of Pete's worst efforts on the beat before jumping into a discussion about Landon Collins. If you're hoping to see Landon join the 'Skins some day soon, you probably won't be thrilled with this segment. Next, the three hosts randomly start naming free agents they'd like to see Washington add, which is always a fun exercise. And to wrap, you'll hear JP's interviews with Clinton Portis (34:03), Pep Hamilton, and Oliver Luck, all of whom were in attendance at Thursday's big press conference regarding D.C.'s new XFL team. That means in this pod you'll get to learn about two pro football franchises. If you like podcasts where Mitch performs a mind trick on JP and JP's backyard is a hot topic, then this is the episode for you.

MAILBAG POD: It's time to answer fan questions about McCoy, Brissett, Rosen, FedEx Field's grass and more Feb 19, 2019
    Show notes

JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are back from their various weekend activities and ready to record a new Redskins Talk. After questioning Pete's decision to head to Philly as well as his reluctance to drink Jager on its own, the guys open up their new mailbag for a fan-focused edition of the pod. Inside the mailbag are questions regarding Chris Thompson, Colt McCoy, Jacoby Brissett, the AAF, Josh Rosen and the grass at FedEx Field. Those questions lead to many debates, some of which are long and some of which are not, and also lead Mitch to coin a new phrase that doesn't make a ton of sense. After emptying the mailbag, the three hosts move onto some shtick and also kick around locations for upcoming podcast parties. If you like podcasts where JP tells a story about hurting his already messed up ankle and Severely Emo Pete pops up out of nowhere, then this is the episode for you.
