Introducing: Dinner's On Me Jan 08, 2025

Show notes

Hey, Behind the Velvet Rope listeners! I’m dropping in with something I know you’re going to love. You know Jesse Tyler Ferguson, right? Modern Family’s Mitch, Broadway star, and all-around delightful human? Well, Jesse’s got an amazing podcast called Dinner’s On Me where he takes celebrity guests out for dinner at some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles and New York City.

It’s like being a fly on the wall for the most fun and fascinating conversations. The conversations? Juicy. Fun. And always filled with surprises. And let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to listen in on dinner with Lisa Kudrow?

That’s right, —Jesse recently sat down with none other than Friends legend Lisa Kudrow and they got into something fascinating: how Lisa played Ursula, the quirky waitress from Mad About You, even before she landed the role of Phoebe on Friends. When Friends came along, NBC didn’t want to lose Lisa’s magic on Mad About You, so they made Phoebe and Ursula twin sisters to connect the two shows. It’s such an amazing bit of TV history, and of course, only someone like Lisa could pull it off.

To hear more about Lisa’s time on Friends and Mad About You, plus the fascinating career moments that only Lisa could have, head over to Dinner’s On Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson. It’s available on all podcast platforms, with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.

Dorit continues to bring it, PK opens up, Jennifer Tilly remains authentic and Lisa Rinna and Kathy Hilton run into each other at, where else, a Hollywood red carpet. Speaking of Lisa Rinna, some Housewives are killing it post Bravo while others seem to be losing themselves in the thirst of it all. Jennifer Aydin, we are talking to you. Finally, all is not as it seems with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni - the claims, past bad acts and reputations and what is really the cause and likely outcome of it all. All this and more as we are joined back by the one and only Amir Yaas from The Vault Podcast with Monica and Amir.
