CASSANDRA "ELVIRA" PETERSON (on an Iconic Career of Being Elvira!) Sep 30, 2021

Show notes

Cassandra Peterson steps Behind The Rope. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, in the flesh, Behind The Rope. Let us just process that for a hot horror sec. Cassandra is here to chat about her new book (currently # 4 on the NYT Best Sellers List) “Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark”, where she holds nothing back about her outrageous, strange, often funny, often heartbreaking tale from a Midwest farm girl whose unfortunate childhood accident led her to ultimately become the most Iconic, Sexiest, Sassiest, Campiest Horror Legend of ALL time! Cassandra details how Elvira was born, the highs and lows of an over four decade long career of being Elvira, the amazing, often strange, fan encounters, the unbelievable and often also strange celeb run ins, the biggest misconceptions about both Elvira and Cassandra, and the most shocking revelations in this book that will leave most readers speechless. Finally, Cassandra chats about current horror trends and blockbusters such as Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story”, Reality TV, who she would love to play her in the story of her life, what Elvira does to celebrate her just past Seventieth Birthday - we are as shocked as you are - and just what is next for this Queen of Macabre and Living Legend that does not seem to be slowing down any time soon. As Elvira says, Unpleasant Dreams.

Perez Hilton (on Britney Apology, Kimye, Bennifer, Tori Spelling, SATC & The End of Housewives) Sep 29, 2021

Show notes

Perez Hilton is back. Yes, one of our most regular guests has returned to help us make sense of all that is going on in the world of celebrity and Housewives drama one click any a time. After a quick catch up with Perez, we chat about hot takes on some of the things keeping The Rope up at night - Britney’s Conservatorship and Engagement (his apology to BritBrit earlier this year, the horrifying testimony, is her fiancé in it for the right reasons?), The Tom / Erika Divorce (did she know?), KKW and Kanye (recent wedding re-enactments, name changes, soulmates?), Khlo $ and Tristan (I mean…), Madonna (is she still relevant?), Tori Spelling (are her and Dean so not “In Love”?), Bennifer (is this “the real deal” as they look at property together?), The Biebs and his Bride (will Justin and Hailey Baldwin go the distance), The Jennifer Aniston / Reese Witherspoon feud (is all not okay on “The Morning Show”) and so much more! Perez opens up about his ban from TikTok due to his feud with its biggest star, Charli D’Amelio, the social media “bullying” culture we now exist in, cancel culture, and where the King of All Media sees social media going in the next several years. With Housewife ratings down across the board, Perez also chats about the future of Reality TV, is the end in sight and can we imagine a world with no Housewives or Andy Cohen, who Perez had beef with earlier this year over a “Gay Dad’s” reality show concept which we discuss. Finally, Perez has a new line of CBD Gummies which we chat about along with his own history with drugs and alcohol and just what is next for this Entrepreneur, Trailblazer, Author, Dad, Celebrity BFF to many and Gossip Pop Culture Guru who works 24/7 and refuses to slow down.

HEATHER THOMSON (on No RHONY Reunion, Unaired Carole Radziwill Phone Call, Bethenny Frankel as Producer & Future of RHONY) - I I Sep 28, 2021

Show notes

Holla! Heather Thomson Steps Behind The Rope. She’s back! Checking in from her home in The Berkshires, Heather is here to break down her time this past season on The Real Housewives of New York City which ended way too soon. Heather breaks down all that went wrong that fateful weekend in The Hamptons at Ramona Singer’s and shares an update on her “relationship” with all of the current RHONY cast members. Heather also breaks down the apology she read on WWHL, chats about the RHONY cast member who had a strange reaction to her WWHL appearance, explains the real reasons she decided to stop filming and walk away, and divulges the phone call she had in the car ride back to NYC with a past RHONY cast member immediately after! OMG, we know! Speaking of this season just past, Heather helps us break down exactly why the ratings have dramatically dropped so significantly, the fall from grace Leah has had among the viewers, the claims that these are a “bunch of co-workers, not friends”, Jill Zarin’s statement that the ratings decrease is due to the lack of men / husbands, which past cast members should be brought back and just what would Heather do if she were a producer in charge of increasing the ratings for the next season. After all, her and Bethenny Frankel do know it all. We also chat about the fact that, in an unprecedented move, the reunion was cancelled and whether now, after this past season’s experience, she would ever go back. Heather is much more than just an ex-RHONY cast member. In fact she is busy AF with her thriving “In My Heart” Podcast and new company “Beyond Fresh” - always the entrepreneur - a superfood wellness brand which is rapidly changing the way we think about nutrition and healthy living! From Yummy Tummy to Beyond Fresh!! Thanks Mama for stopping by again. Always a pleasure!

Show notes

Our fav RHOBH “Friend Of” turned Gossip Monger Miss Dana Wilkey is back. Dana is here to share all the intel she has on the daily changing saga that is the Erika Jayne / Tom Girardi divorce. In other words, Dana Wilkey is here to chat about her New Life’s Work. Dana shares what she knows from behind the scenes, boots on the ground regarding RHOBH and we chat about the recent current state of EJ affairs - T.J. Maxx Visits, Red Carpets in Vegas and of course, Mr. Girardi’s recent paparazzi appearance where he was asked, “Did Erika Know?”. Dana also has a lot of questions about the Behind The Scenes goings on from our most recent of our three chats with Sutton Stracke and, although we don’t like to spill tea, this is Patreon and Dana does have a way with us so, well, we eventually oblige. Finally, Dana, obsessed with EJ’s spending and $25M in credit card charges, comes prepared with Housewife salaries and all sorts of other financial info that we just cannot get enough of. Real Housewives of Miami's Adriana de Moura (on the Past, Present & Reboot of RHOM!) Sep 23, 2021

Show notes

The Real Housewives of Miami Reboot. Now that RHOM Season 4 is confirmed coming to the Peacock Streaming Network very soon, we have oh so many questions. In true Behind The Velvet Rope fashion we have gone straight to the source, someone who knows a thing or two about RHOM, having been a full time Housewife on the series for all three seasons that it was on Bravo. We are thrilled to welcome Miss Adriana de Moura. Right prior to the official announcement, we sat down with Adriana to chat about it all. After a quick catch up on her life, Adriana shares all that she knows about the Reboot. We chat about Adriana, Alexia Echevarria and Lisa Hochstein returning as full time Housewives and the assumption that Marysol Patton will allegedly return as a “friend of”. We chat about those casting decisions, why the series ended in the first place, what will the show be without fan fav Mama Elsa, what the show will be like without self imposed “ringleader” and “Mayor of Miami” Lea Black and why now is the right time to bring the show back, Of course we discuss Jonna Krupa and Lea Black’s recent comments as to why they are not interested in returning and what the new series will be like with now viral sensation ex Kardashian BFF Larsa Pippen attached to the project. All your RHOM questions answered within. In true Adriana de Moura fashion, remember from ten years ago when we last saw her on our TV screens, she does not hold back!!

Parvati Shallow - (on Winning Survivor, Being on Everyone's "Best Player" List, & Her Game Legacy) Sep 22, 2021

Show notes

Parvati Shallow steps Behind The Rope. Survivor Winner, Parvati Shallow. We are celebrating the long awaited return of tonight’s forty first installment of one of the most successful reality shows of all time the only way we knew how. Parvati is on EVERY “Best Survivor Players of all time” list as well as one of Jeff Probst’s personal “Favorite Players of all time” list. After chatting with her, it is very clear as to why. Did you know Parvati has played this brilliant game four different seasons for a total of 149 days on the island, making her the second longest player of all time, second only to Boston Rob’s 152 days. Parvati chats with us about what her strategy was to win Micronesia, the differences between the four seasons she played, who she thinks - other than herself, of course, is the best Survivor player of all time, why she is so good at this game and would she ever go back. Of course, we discuss The Black Widow Brigade, one of the most effective alliances in Survivor history and Erik’s blindside, which has been called one of the best moments in Survivor history. On a more serious note, we chat about the controversial Cook Islands season she was a part of which divided the contestants into four tribes based on racial ethnicity: Black, White, Hispanic, Asian American - how antiquated that now seems and how was that concept originally green lit? On a more serious note, Parvati opens up about the psychological effects playing the game had on her and the steps taken to relieve those roadblocks and integrate back into society as a fully functioning member of society. On that note, Parvati has integrated all of these skills of playing Survivor, her struggles thereafter, her career in media and entertainment, and overall life experiences into a booming business as a Life Coach.**

Former Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones (on PCD, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Antin, Britney & More) Sep 21, 2021

Show notes

Former Pussycat Doll's member Kaya Jones steps Behind The Rope. Kaya chronicles how she came to be a member of the Pussycat Dolls in December 2003, when she was just 19 years old. After chatting about the audition process and landing the part, Kaya pulls back the curtain of what being in this group was really like. Kaya details what she calls the “toxic” (according to her, allegedly) work environment, the excruciatingly long hours, the infighting between the other PCDs and everything else you can imagine, Kaya covers it. Of course, Kaya talks about group founder and choreographer Robin Antin - what she was like, how she treated the members, what her goals for herself and for the group were and whether those goals were always consistent with the other. Kaya explains whose decision it was to transform the Pussycat Dolls from being a “burlesque performance group” to a full fledged musical band, how that transition took place, and what it took to ultimately get signed to a record deal. Kaya contributed to songs that would ultimately make up The Dolls’ first album. We discuss the mega hit “Don’t Cha” and the Dolls’ lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. In 2004, Kaya left the band during the recording of the first album claiming it was no longer fun to be in the band. After leaving the band, Kaya pursed a solo career in music. There were also those repeated times she made allegations that being in the Pussycat Dolls were like being part of a prostitution ring. Say whhhaattt? Yea, we break that one down for you. Ok umm, what? Kaya also chats about her start in the music business at 13 years old working with R. Kelly. Tune in now for a no holds bar chat about all things Pussycat Dolls with the one and only Miss Kaya Jones.
