TABATHA COFFEY (on Bravo Legacy, Tabatha's Takeover/Shear Genius, Erika Jayne/Jen Shah & RHUGT Bravo Legends Edition!) - I Feb 15, 2022

Show notes

Tabatha Coffey steps Behind The Rope. She is back!! First, we cannot help but reminisce again about the Bravo days of yesteryear when Tabatha reigned supreme with her epic array of shows Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, Tabatha’s Takeover, Relative Success With Tabatha and, of course, the show that introduced us to this blond beauty, Shear Genius. We chat about the appeal Tabatha had to last on our TVs for so long, her signature tell it like it is / hold nothing back approach to hair and life, how Bravo has changed over the years to become the network it is today. With two seasons of RHUGT, we hypothesize which colleagues would be prime to join Tabatha in the non-housewives version of Girls Trip - Kathy Griffin, Rachel Zoe, Jeff Lewis, Patti Stanger, Jackie Warner - we are looking at you, discussing the pros and cons of each as a potential cast member. We also can’t help but throw around Paula Abdul’s name. After all, who can forget, Bravo’s “Hey Paula”. Tabatha weighs in on some of the current Bravo legal cases keeping us up at night - Erika Jayne & Jen Shah, discusses why someone would go on Reality TV if they had anything to potentially hide, and the allure and addiction of fame, one of the most powerful drugs. The last time Tab was here we asked if she would ever join RHONJ, seeing as she lives just across the river. We follow up on that chat with who she has heard from since we have put that out in the world. Andy Cohen we are talking about you. We also revisit Tabatha’s idea for an all gay Housewives - men and women, cancel culture and what the woman who everyone thinks is a B+tch does for fun when not running one of her many businesses. Of course, we couldn’t let her go without discussing hair, trends, fashions and whether a $10,000 Ponytail for the Met Gala was really necessary Kim Kardashian. In typical Tabatha fashion, she does not hold back.

Kim D. (on Gia Giudice's MVP Appearance, Tre/Luis Backstage WWHL Rumored Drama & More!) Feb 12, 2022

Show notes

Kim D is back for another explosive RHONJ recap. As Kim says at the start of this chat, there is only one word that matters this week. G-I-A. We have watched her go from a child to a young woman and this week, Gia makes her official debut. Ok, she has been here all this time, but Gia, honey, you have our utmost attention! The convo quickly turns to Jennifer, her secret revealed, tears shed, what seems to be a “new” / actually old return of Miss Dolores (she was actually on her way to Kim’s house during this chat to “pick up some stuff” - we discuss), Jackie showing compassion, Margaret being Margaret and, oh yea, does anyone remember we technically have two “friends of” this season. Of course, in true Kim D. fashion she drops one hell of a bomb about Teresa and Luis’ WWHL appearance back stage during premiere night! You do not want to miss this one.

Whitney Rose (on RHOSLC Drama Past, Present & Future) - I Feb 11, 2022

Show notes

We always say to first year Housewives, don’t change. As y’all listen to this chat from one year ago with Whitney Rose, has she changed? Things certainly have changed in twelve short months. Before Mary Cosby was a thing of the past, before we even knew who Jennie Nguyen was, back when Meredith and Lisa were BFFs, we sat down with the one and only Whitney Rose.

Whitney Rose steps Behind The Rope. In preparation for tonight’s conclusion to an epic 3 part reunion, Whitney is here to break down this freshman season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. After a brief discussion of Whitney’s life prior to the show - yea we wanted to know more about the woman behind what ya all have seen on TV over the past few months - we get right into it. Whitney is more than happy to discuss, and does not hold back in discussing, her close friendships, mere acquaintances and not so close friendships with cast mates Mary Cosby, Jen Shah, Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow and Heather Gay. We will let you figure out which is which. We delve deep into all the seasons dramas discussing which were necessary and valid and which Whitney would never like to speak of again. Speaking of drama, we break down the reunion, part by part, analyzing whether any closure was achieved or rather fresh wounds were opened. Now that Season Two has been green lit, Whitney discusses what she predicts will transpire amongst her cast mates, what she would like to see change, and what she plans to do differently. Spoiler Alert, we here Behind The Rope have already heard tidbits from Season Two filming which we, of course, do our best to get Whitney to comment on. Hey, we are good like that. Like we said, spoiler alert. You don’t wanna miss this one!

Kim D. (Breaks Down RHONJ Season Premiere & Real Life NJ Run Ins)!! Feb 05, 2022

Show notes

Y’all love our RHOBH chats with former RHOBH Kathryn Edwards so why not do the same with former RHONJ “Friend Of”, Kim D. Now that RHONJ is back in our lives, you know it is the only thing you want to talk about!! We break it all down sharing our deep thoughts about this past weeks Season Premiere “Smoke, Mirrors and Foggy Diamonds”. Tre is in love, love, love, Luis made a bizarre video, Jackie is cool, an episode would not be complete without a cameo from Big Frank, Jennifer gets a new nose, oversees, we learn new info about Bill Aydin, Margaret has a backbone and oh, so much more. Also, let us not forget Kim has real life ties to many of the current cast and even reveals how she herself was involved in the alleged Aydin infidelity. Whew, all this and we are only on episode one. In true Kim D. fashion, she does not hold back!

Vicki Gunvalson (on RHOC Past, Present & Future)! Feb 04, 2022

Show notes

We could not let this “revised” season of RHOC come and go without re-sharing one of our fav OC, heck, one of our fav chats ever with you, the one and only OG of the OC!

The OG of the OC Miss Vicki Gunvalson steps Behind The Rope. First Vicki fills us all in on what she has been up to since we last saw her on our TV screens. For those of you who don’t know, she bought a house in Mexico, had a stellar Whoop It Up Podcast (which BTVR appeared on), has been running Coto Insurance, and has just been enjoying time with her family (Steve, Michael, Brianna, Ryan & The Boys). Vicki and David discuss the trajectory of being a Housewife - the beginning (so hopeful), the middle (save your $), the inevitable end (Cue The Five Stages of grief). We discuss the concept of resigning and quitting versus being fired and let go. Vicki lets us know what advice she would give, not only to Season One Vicki, but other Housewives starting out and what she has learned throughout the years during her tenure on the hit Bravo show. Speaking of the beginning, Vicki and David discuss how much the show has changed since the beginning - the salaries, the vacations, the women, the drama! We discuss the involvement of producers and editing throughout the years and the concept of “reality” as it exists, or lack thereof, in any reality TV show these days. Vicki opens up about her highs and lows during her fourteen years on the show. We discuss the evolution of her relationships that we saw play out on national TV - Don, Brooks, Steve. Vicki discusses her relationships with Kelly Dodd (where she thinks it all went wrong), Tamra Judge (going strong), Shannon Beador (can it be repaired?) as well as RHOC past Jeana Keough, Meghan King Edmonds, Heather Durbrow and Alexis (“Jesus Jugs”) Bellino. Vicki is honest about what she misses the most about Housewives and answers the age old question, would you ever go back? Finally, no sit down with The OG of the OC would be complete without a trip down memory lane regarding some of Vicki’s most iconic moments - the State of Oklahoma. Slade Smiley’s infamous comment and her plastic surgeries throughout the years, Lauri Peterson’s Ski Slope “multiple partners” and of course, last but certainly not least, just how many people can you fit into a family van?
