This week we welcome the amazing Monte Durham - one of the stars from TV's Say Yes To The Dress Atlanta.

Finding the right dress has never been easy for most brides. The idea of going shopping for a dress downright scares some brides. But now, throw in issues with fabrication, transportation, and labor, and the perfect dress can be something nightmares are made of.

Monte's whole job is to take that complicated mess and bring it down to easy to digest small bites, that allow you to stay in the joy zone while also giving you sound advice about what is, and what is not, your perfect dress.

Monte Durham the Fashion Director at Bridals by Lori, the South’s premier bridal salon featured on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.

A native of small-town West Virginia, Monte describes his ascension from one-room schoolhouse to the fashion industry an unlikely story. Before he found his way to bridal, Monte worked in fashion merchandising and hair styling, then made a name for himself as a Washington, D.C.-based bridal image consultant. His work has appeared in the pages of The Washingtonian, Martha Stewart Living, Brides Magazine, and several other publications. Monte’s no-nonsense fashion commentary and naughty sense of humor have made him a favorite and regular guest on CNN and Fox.

Monte’s current project is building the M.O.N.T.E. brand, a line of hair care line that’s sold in Salon MONTE Located in the Watermark in Historic Old Town Alexandria.

Weddings have to be a team effort. If your photographer doesn't get along with your planner or entertainment pros, your photos are not going to be as great. And how about that planner that does nothing but yell? It could spell massive disaster.

Lara Nickerson is a Senior Account Executive for BBJ La Tavola Linen based in Orlando. She’s been on the BBJ team for nearly 4 years, serving Florida clients in social and corporate events, recently expanding to the Alabama market during the COVID19 Pandemic.
In 2019 Lara won the President’s Club Award for the Southeast Region and looks forward to the busiest year since in 2022! She has been on the ILEA Orlando Board of Directors since 2020, currently serving as VP of Membership for the 2021-2022 term.
A graduate of The University of Georgia, she loves to stir up some rivalries with the UF fans in the area, but prefers the real game of “football”, cheering on Orlando City Soccer at every game for the last 6 years. Vamos Orlando!

CeCe’s passion for teaching the next generation of floral designers lead her to found CeCe School Online Membership group and she hosts multiple hands-on workshops each year.
A lot goes into the choices we make. From the perfect venue, to a mouthwatering menu, and the florals, are all influenced by the world around us. Flowers specifically have become increasing influenced by what is happening around the world including geopolitics and Covid.

Behind The Veil - Vendor Meals... A Right or A Privilege Feb 01, 2022

This week we get personal! At a recent event, I was given attitude about the vendor meals - and so I posted about it. And the response was intense on both sides of the aisle. To feed or not to feed?? You would think the idea of a vendor meal would be an easy issue to discuss but there are so many factors that go into it.
The cost - many venues and catering companies are upping the cost of a vendor meal making it almost the same cost as the guest meal.
The timing - when do you make them available and are the vendors missing anything because of the timing
The number - It happens all of the time, the client will provide a certain number of vendor meals, and then one of the vendors brings more staff than originally expected or the food is eaten by others than who it was intended for.
The expectation - It has been said that this is an industry standard but what industry? When did it become a standard? And if it is standard, who outlines the rules?
Client expectations - many clients don't understand the idea of paying for vendor meals since in most of their day to day lives, the company will give time for lunch, but not the meal itself.
And this is just one of many behind the scenes complication that seemed to becoming systemic especially now that vendors are busier than ever, with labor shortages, material slowdowns, and increased cost in EVERYTHING!
