We’re calling a replay on 2020 as we look back at our most memorable guests in this BTM Podcast Year in Review episode.
This year, hosts Takeo Spikes and Tutan Reyes have chopped it up with NFL stars including Seattle’s DK Metcalf and football legends like Clinton Portis, Patrick Willis and Hugh Douglas.
The guys were given a lesson on overcoming adversity by Olympic sprinter Justin Gatlin, and rules on dating by reality TV star, “Miss Quad” Webb of Bravo’s ‘Married to Medicine’ fame.
There were also tough conversations on social injustice, COVID-19 in the NFL and its devastating effect on communities of color. But, there was also a lot of fun from nude shots of Takeo to the punches thrown by Tu.
This has been a truly award-winning year for Behind the Mask Podcast, and Takeo and Tutan relive all the big moments and dope stories with you in this special rewind episode.

The NFL playoff picture won’t have one familiar team, the New England Patriots. NFL Vets Takeo Spikes and Tutan Reyes talk about it in this BTM Conversations.
For the first time since 2008, the Pats won’t be in the preseason. It begs the question: Who was most important: Coach Bill Belichick or former QB Tom Brady (who’s still in the playoff hunt with Tampa Bay)?
Takeo and Tu don’t agree on that one!
The guys also discuss:
• With the Patriots out, where does this put QB Cam Newton?
• Is the grass greener for wideouts Antonio Brown and Dez Bryant? Over the weekend, Brown scored his first TD with Tampa Bay. Bryant scored his first TD in more than three years.

Plus, Matt Patricia is out. Darrell Bevell is in as the Detroit Lions new head coach. How did Bevell do on Sunday against the Chicago Bears? And, how happy were players to get rid of Patricia?! The streets are talking.

Boxing greats Mike Tyson and Roy Jones, Jr. put on a show in the ring, but was their fight legendary or unnecessary? No knockout, but a lot of jabs.
NFL Vets Takeo Spikes and Tutan Reyes sound off on the exhibition match between the 50+ year old fighters. Tyson hadn’t fought in 15 years. Jones looked a bit tired. The fight was declared a draw, but who really won? Was Jones’ safety ever in jeopardy? And, could Tyson have knocked out Jones? Takeo and Tu also discuss that and the legacy of Jones Junior.
Plus in NFL news, the San Francisco 49ers are banned from their home stadium due to COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County. Spikes and Reyes reveal how this shocking news may affect players and where the 49ers could play next.

Hip hop culture fuels the energy of the NFL. So, the Gucci Mane and Jeezy VERZUZ grudge battle is more than just locker room talk.
NFL Vets Takeo Spikes and Tutan Reyes give their take on the epic battle and whether holding on to grudges in life (or in The League) is really worth it.
The grudge between Gucci and Jeezy, two of Trap Music’s biggest stars, went on for more than a decade and caused beef in the streets and in the studio.
Plus, Takeo and Tu talk about intimidation. It just doesn’t happen in rap. It happens in love. The guys remember being slightly intimidated when meeting their celebrity girl crushes while in the NFL.
