February marks Black History Month. Watch as Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter and Co-host Deputy Sanders Tisdale talk with MCSO Community Affairs Executive Dr. Torrance Jones and Pastor Donald Stevens of Helping Hands Missionary Baptist Church about celebrating and recognizing Black History Month all year.
"When I think what does it mean to me? I am black history, ya know on a personal level," said Dr. Torrance Jones, MCSO Community Affairs Director. "I remember, just my mother and father, they grew up in the South and they grew up actually in segregated schools. So they did not grow up in a system where schools are integrated when it comes to black and white."
