Hi, I’m Rivky Itzkowitz I’m the founder and designer at Impact Fashion and I’m the host here at Be Impactful, the show about women making an Impact in their own corners of the world. I started Impact Fashion in November of 2016 so that the modest minded women in my community could feel empowered to put their best foot forward every day, regardless of their size. In the process of growing my business I’ve been fortunate enough to connect with women of all different types and from all different fields. And the main lesson I’ve learnt is that we are all just improvising. We’re going around doing the best we can with what we’ve got, feeling self conscious about what everyone else is accomplishing. The truth is, the people who you’re looking over your shoulder at are probably doing the exact same thing to someone else.
So let’s talk about the real nitty gritty in our lives and journeys and lift each other up by being just a bit more open. Join me and my guests as we try to figure out what it means to Be Impactful.

The Mind Palace with Sydney Magruder-Washington Jan 06, 2020

Sydney Magruder Washington is a wife, Dachshund mom, professional ballerina, mental health advocate, and singer living in New York City. At age 11, she was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, followed by subsequent diagnoses of Major Depressive Disorder and Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia. she spent so much of her childhood and teenage years trying to hide her diseases before she came to a realization - I don't have to hide. I'm fine the way I am, and my diagnoses don't make me less than.

She spends most of her time in auditions, classes, and rehearsals, but in her free hours she writes and speaks out about living and thriving with mental health issues in the demanding (but beautiful) world of classical ballet. She loves books, babies, sunsets over Manhattan, tea of any kind, vintage dresses, museums, the Lord, cooking, her family, music made before she was born, giving gifts, and football.

Leslie Gang, 34, a Long Island native, is the Director of Communications at The Brandeis School in Lawrence, NY and mother of two children, Alexandra (7) and Simon (5). She graduated from Boston University in 2007 with a BS in Communications (specialization in Public Relations).

Gang is also the co-founder of Hindi's Libraries, a nonprofit organization that collects new and gently used books to children all over the world.

Shelley Wapniak is a New York based Body Paint Artist who was featured on Season 3 of GSN's Skin Wars, an International competition based Body Paint show.

She was raised in an Orthodox family and has held on to many of the orthodox traditions even now as an adult living and working in an unusual and modern career

Shelley is the sole proprietor of "Body Art By Shelley Wapniak." And "SeeSaw Party Art."

Shelley is a graduate of SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. She is also a published Illustrator and Mural Artist.
