Bringing Energy to Basketball Practice Everyday  A quiet gym is a losing gym  It is the life force you bring to practice  Does your energy affect other people positively  If you coaches voice dominates your practice you are going to have low energy practice.  Be an energy giver not an energy taker  Reason Practices don’t have spirit? Thoughts? • Most common o Basketball Coaches ( job is get on you) o It is Not the basketball Coaches job bring to spirit and energy to practice o You don’t feel like it o The times you don’t feel like it are the times energy is needed most (Manufacture it) o You have to fake it to you make it  Ways to Bring Energy • 2 minute of Positive Energy • Rhythm Clapping • Positive Touch ( Winning teams have more of this) • Sprinting players on sideline

Marque Carrington Our next coach is Marque Carrington. Coach Carrington served Cardinal Gibbons H.S. (Raleigh, NC) as boy’s basketball coach (2008-14). Thirteen players earned academic all-conference honors annually. Five of his six seasons included North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) State Playoff berths. Cardinal Gibbons was the 2009-10 Carolina Six 3A Conference Champions, and Carrington was named league Coach of the Year. The 2013-14 Crusaders earned North Carolina’s highest grade point average among NCHSAA basketball teams. Carrington, a previous assistant coach at St. Augustine’s University and N.C. A&T University is founder of Key to Success - a seminar-based coaching development program. Over the last few years I have had the privilege to attend many of coach’s clinics. His Key to Success Clinics have been some of the most beneficial clinics I have attended. To show how great his character is, he invited some of our players and myself to his recent clinic on the In’s and Out’s of Recruiting. It was possibly one of the best clinics I have ever attended! It shows you how great these clinics are, before attending one these type of events I never knew who this man was, and now we are in contact very often.
