How many points does Georgia need to win each of their games? Sep 04, 2020

Show notes

The season's here, and that means Barton and Bud are pushing to two episodes a week.

Jamie Newman opted out earlier this week, and that makes the guys less comfortable with Georgia's outlook, so they play a quick game of "how many points will Georgia need to win each of their games?" Then they dive into the middle of the Big 12. Every team in the Big 12 has questions, so the question is whose upside speaks most to you, and whose downside is too low for comfort. Check all that and more on Barton & Bud.

Is LSU closer to 4-6 or 8-2? SEC update and 2020 eligibility rule reactions Sep 01, 2020

Show notes

Barton and Bud came ready to talk rule changes, but when they looked at their notes, they realized that it would be an SEC kind of episode. So after some brief banter about the new eligibility rules for the 2020 senior class, B&B talk about the SEC West. LSU is down to 70 scholarship players. Could they be bad? Could Texas A&M make the CFBP if they are a top-15 offense? Is Bama underrated? All that and more on Barton and Bud.

We care about winning football vs we care about your kids: who wins in post-COVID recruiting? Aug 25, 2020

Show notes

You guys did it. 500 ratings and reviews on Apple Podcasts means another mailbag. This time the questions are very philosophical. Who is the big winner in post-COVID recruiting? If all goes well, SEC/ACC/Big 12 schools that play in the fall can tell recruits they care about football more than the Big Ten and Pac 12, but if things go poorly, Big Ten and Pac 12 schools can tell parents they will protect their children.

Plus, comparing Sean Clifford and Ian Book, Georgia is Georgia because it is in Georgia, will Dabo ever bring a transfer to Clemson and a whole lot more.

An honest conversation on the considerations for fall football Aug 12, 2020

Show notes

Editor's note: This episode was recorded before news of the Big Ten, Pac 12, and Big 12 conferences made their decisions to play or not. The content is still relevant even after that news. We promise.

With some conferences canceling and others pushing forward towards a fall season, Barton and Bud wanted to walk through as many of the reasons to play and to cancel and consider all the perspectives with an open mind in hopes to both understand and evaluate the depth of the challenge facing university presidents and conference commissioners.
