    Show notes

How bout that! The boys are back in town! After an evergreen episode last week on tape delay to fill the space while the guys took a little break, Jake and Spencer are back in the studio to talk some Ravens and NFL with you all as July is coming to a close. There are plenty of topics on the docket today the show as a result is a bit of a rambler), and the guys start things off with some discussions around league wide opt-outs, including on the Ravens, and how baseball may set a precedent for the NFL if things get a bit ugly on the COVID front. The boys also have plenty to say about the blockbuster trade that sent Jamal Adams from New York to Seattle, the NFL Network's Top 100 list being revealed, and some chatter on Lamar Jackson from multiple sources throughout NFL Media that caught their eye. We hope you all enjoy and we'll talk to you again very soon!

    The Washington What-Nows? Jul 17, 2020
    Show notes

What's up guys? The boys are back in studio together for the first time in a few weeks, and they have plenty to talk about - unfortunately, not all of it is good today. Of course, they start off with a discussion about the Washington Post report about the currently nameless football franchise that occupies D.C. Plenty of both that, and the name change, and that's just about enough Dan Snyder talk for one episode. Outside of that, the guys talk Madden ratings, the franchise tag (especially as it pertains to Matthew Judon), and Warren Sharp's 2020 football preview. We really appreciate you guys listening, and hope you have an awesome weekend!

Mahomes signs, Attendance announcements Jul 09, 2020
    Show notes

What's up guys? It's another thirsty Thursday on the Baltimore Beatdown Podcast, that's what. Spencer is busy getting drunk down in Ocean City, so in his place, Ravens Flock Talk's own Walt Hansbrough (@WalkLikeWalt) joins Jake to talk some NFL and ravens news, and open the mailbag for the week of July 9th. To start things off, the boys discuss the biggest news in NFL circles right now, and that is Patrick Mahomes mega-contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. After that, they discuss the Ravens announcement regarding closing off their home games to only allow for a maximum attendance of 14,000 fans, and what that's going to mean for the team in 2020. To cap things off, the guys turn to the mailbag which includes many great questions this week, such as projections for Hollywood Brown and Mark Andrews, how the attendance announcement affects home field advantage, potential breakout players at linebacker, and much, much more. Thanks for listening, and stay safe out there!

    Independence Day Jul 02, 2020
    Show notes

The boys are back in studio, once again on a Thirsty Thursday, and they're here to talk some football for your enjoyment as you guys cruise into the holiday weekend. There isn't a ton of major NFL news floating around right now, but one big piece of it that came out recently is that longtime Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has signed a one year deal with the New England Patriots. The guys have plenty on that, and some other bits of Ravens centric news to get to, such as Tavon Young being ruled ready to go, the NFL announcing that the preaseason will be shortened, and of course some chatter on the Bozeman's putting their RV up for sale. Before closing things out, Spencer touches on some research he's been doing in relation to Lamar Jackson and the amount of hits (or lack thereof) that he takes, which is something that's very fascinating and you'll definitely want to hear. We hope you guys enjoy this one, and that you have a safe and happy July 4th!

Back in the Day: Patriots @ Ravens, Week 3, 2012 Jun 26, 2020
    Show notes

What's up guys? It's Friday, that's what, and the boys have an absolutely jam packed episode for you to cruise into the weekend with. This time it's another "Back in the Day," and it's a very fun one indeed. In week 3 of the 2012 season, the Patriots came to Baltimore to take on the Ravens in a Sunday Night Football matchup that promised to deliver after their shootout in the AFC Championship game the year prior. The Ravens had revenge on their minds, and also were dealing with a tragedy within the locker room as young Torrey Smith's brother had passed away the night before the game. Torrey decided to suit up in this one, and spoiler alert, he had himself a good one. For that, and a whole lot more awesome nostalgia talk surrounding the Ravens last Super Bowl season, you'll definitely want to tune into this one. Have a great weekend, and we'll talk to you guys again very soon.

    AB, see? Jun 24, 2020
    Show notes

The boys are back in studio on this fine Wednesday (my dudes) to talk all things Ravens as we progress through the summer and (hopefully) towards the season. Today, they have an extra long edition of that for you that is centered around the trusty mailbag, but also touches on some relatively big news that came down on Tuesday. That is, that the Ravens have had "internal discussions" regarding signing the embattled free agent receiver Antonio Brown, who they've been linked to at times throughout this offseason. While there are plenty of great listener questions to get to, the AB conversation takes a life of it's own on this one, so we hope you guys are ready for some spirited discussion surrounding the report. Outside of that, we really appreciate everyone who wrote in and hope you guys will continue to do so as we inch closer to training camp. Have an awesome Wednesday, and we'll talk to you guys very soon!
