“Honey, you’ve been breastfeeding for a long time now. You seemed a bit stressed out. It’s OK to wean now.”
“You’re right, I could wean, but I was hoping to keep breastfeeding. I need a plan to keep going while maintaining my sanity. I see Dianne and Abby are talking about boundaries today. I bet they can help!”
Yes, we can help you continue to breastfeed and meet your personal goals. It’s totally normal to want to have some boundaries for yourself. Boundaries can help you avoid weaning before you feel ready.

“Honey, I’m so happy we are having twins! But I heard someone say that you won't make enough milk to breastfeed them.”
“Not true! Dianne and Abby said that breastfeeding multiples is just as possible as breastfeeding a singleton! My body will produce as much milk as needed!”
Listen this week as Dianne and Abby crush some more myths. This time about breastfeeding multiples. Your body will absolutely make enough milk for your babies, no matter how many there are! It can be a challenge to figure out the logistics, but you got this.

    035 Cow's Milk Versus Breastmilk Apr 23, 2018
    Show notes

Submit your question and we’ll answer it in a future episode!

“Honey, don’t you think it’s time we switched our baby to cow’s milk? She is 1 year old now and we want to make sure she has all the fat and vitamin D she needs!”
“Yeah, if she were a baby cow that would definitely be what we should do! Actually Dianne and Abby said that cow’s milk is never necessary and my breastmilk is tailor-made to meet her every need at every age!”
Listen this week as Dianne and Abby discuss cow’s milk and other non-human milk. This is a common misconception that your milk is not sufficient to meet your baby’s needs. Your milk is designed by your body, just as perfectly as your baby was made by your body. No milk from another species can ever be better for your baby. Drink cow’s milk or other milks if you like, but it is never needed. It’s a choice.

“Honey, did you put that pacifier in the baby’s mouth? Didn’t the doctor tell you NOT to give that to the baby?”
“Yeah, he did, but he can suck it!! Dianne and Abby have me feel much more secure in our breastfeeding relationship and now I know that not even a pacifier can mess this up! What a relief!”
Listen this week as Dianne and Abby discuss nipple confusion. As long as you are focusing on breastfeeding on demand you can feel free to take a few moments with a pacifier to use the bathroom, get dressed or take a shower for heaven’s sake!

033 Birth Trauma Effects on Breastfeeding and Beyond Apr 09, 2018
    Show notes

Submit your question and we’ll answer it in a future episode!

“Honey, birth trauma is real and it’s OK to be upset when someone tells you that you should be happy that you at least had a healthy baby.”
“Really? But I feel so guilty for being upset about how the birth went. I’m even nervous about having another baby.”
“Well, Dianne and Abby said that your emotional experience is important too and for our next baby we are going to hire the best birth team around.”
Listen this week as Dianne and Abby talk about birth trauma. If things didn’t go as planned during your delivery it’s OK to be upset. You are not selfish and not crazy. Trauma can happen during birth. And trauma can have big effects on breastfeeding. The only one who can decide if your birth was traumatic is you.
