Brenden Schaeffer discusses Monday's loss for the Cardinals as the recent winning streak was snapped in a 3-1 defeat against the Cincinnati Reds.
After a Sunday hiatus on the pod, Brenden is sure to dip into some of the conversation topics from over the weekend as the Cardinals handled the Cubs in impressive fashion, but what do we make of Arenado's struggles reaching new levels amid the Cardinals' quiet day at the plate on Monday?
Plus, defensive miscues by Arenado and Goldschmidt ended up costing Lance Lynn in an otherwise quality outing by the veteran starter.
Plenty of thoughts on all things Cardinals in this episode.

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals 7-6 win over the Cubs from Saturday night at Busch Stadium as Matt Carpenter delivers another dagger into the hearts of Cubs fans. Time is a flat circle.
Though the audio quality isn't as high as the St. Louis offense lately (our usual setup will return after the weekend but I figured something is better than nothing!), how are we feeling about this Cardinals team and the potential that they actually are BACK after this recent run for the club?
Can the Cardinals chase down a .500 record? They're on the hunt to do exactly that, now at 24-26.

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the postponed game from Friday May 24, 2024 between the Cardinals and Cubs.
Could this shift benefit the Cardinals in a major way competitively against their biggest rival? There's a case to be made that the answer is yes, and the reason comes from the two pitching decisions that have resulted from the postponement.
A little baseball talk right here for those who are annoyed that we haven't seen a Cardinals game in multiple days!

Brenden Schaeffer and Charlie Marlow return for Low Hanging Fruit after Charlie was too busy to do the show last week.
The Cardinals have won 8 of 10 and are climbing up the standings. Are they legit good now? Is this recent stretch an anomaly?
Come for the Cardinals take, stay for reminiscing about... Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams? Okay, sure. Never know what we'll get into on this podcast, I guess.

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals sweep over the Orioles in a YouTube live stream on May 22, 2024. This podcast is the audio from that stream as Brenden dove into listener questions about the current state of the team.
Are the Cardinals back? Although they're still three games below .500, St. Louis has consistently demonstrated a lot of encouraging signs over the past 10 games, during which they've gone 8-2 to climb back into relevance.
Plenty of conversation about Lars Nootbaar's amazing catch, injured and minor-league Cardinals nearing their returns, the state of various hitters in the lineup either trending up or down.
What do the Cardinals do with Liberatore and the fifth rotation spot? Is a trade for a starter in the cards?
All that and more in this episode!

Brenden Schaeffer discusses the Cardinals 6-3 win over the Orioles on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Busch Stadium.
'The Michael Siani Game', as future generations will come to know of it, was a spectacle for the St. Louis outfielder who launched his first ever big-league home run and compiled four RBIs on the night.
Sonny Gray had a no hitter going through five, but ended up asking for Oli Marmol to pull him from the start before completing the top of the sixth. Plenty of context explaining that decision and the other moves made by the Cardinals manager.
If you ask me, Oli had an impeccable night of managing this bullpen and the St. Louis pitching staff.

Brenden Schaeffer discusses comments by Marlins manager Skip Schumaker after Sixto Sanchez had another rough first inning that the Miami club was unable to overcome over the weekend. A hit batter and wild pitch followed by multiple walks and hits put the Marlins in a bind that they weren't able to overcome against the Mets. Schumaker pulled no punches saying that what the club has been getting from Sanchez has been unacceptable. Do we like a manager giving blunt criticism of a player on his team when it matches what fans and media can see and acknowledge with their own eyes? Is this similar or different to other instances of managers coming after their own players in recent years across MLB? Follow this feed for MLB and Cardinals baseball content all year long!
