I've been looking forward to this podcast for a while because it really hits my purpose. My whole goal of the podcast is to truly show the diversity of things one can do in the aviation world as well as showcase all the young aviators out there who are bringing new life to this industry. This podcast is still in it's infancy and I am so lucky to have had a diverse group of guests so far and I really take pride in that. Luckily in this episode, I'm continuing that diversity by welcoming Matt Oliveira to the show! Matt Oliveira is a young Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant, most known for his Instagram and YouTube accounts "MolivesTV." What most people don't know about him is, he is doing all this while living with Cystic Fibrosis. Matt, who now lives in the City of Angels, has a story that fits his purpose.. which is to to live a life of adventure while pursuing his dreams. Throughout his story, it's obvious that his diagnosis isn’t something he really things about and he's not letting it effect his life journey. Matt loves taking care of his SWA Passengers while also following his passions in videography and photography. Through all this, Matt is just showing and proving to everyone that you can't let anything hold you back, regardless of the circumstances you may be under. As an immigrant, Mark is going to be the first one to tell you that his road to becoming a helicopter pilot and getting to where he is now as a business owner, was not easy and took a lot of work. His passion for what he does day in an day out has lead him to all of his success and the exact reason why he says he is so happy today. After the last fire episode with AJ aka the TMTPilot, I wanted to delve back into the financial side of flying and how YOU CAN AFFORD to fly or start flight training. Today's episode is super applicable to any aviator that has some type of specialized skill. Through this little series I'm trying to extinguish your excuses. In today's episode I am going to tell you about a way you can pay for flying, again, for little to no money out of your own pocket!! This method is going to take a lot more work on your part than the first way I talked about. I don't think people realize how many skills they have that they could monetize. You can take these skills that you have and use them to barter your way to flight time or flight training! It's so easy to do this through mediums like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter but you have to work at it. Most people won't take this advice though, I just know it. If you do take this advice, I know you will be able to start to afford flying tomorrow...I promise! I hope you enjoy this weeks podcast!

AJ is 1 of 3 corporate pilots for Floyd "Money" Mayweather and his TMT Brand. I am so incredibly humbled that he took the time to join the podcast and share his own personal story, knowledge and experience with the AvGeek Nation. Though we go into detail about what it's like to work for the greatest athlete ever (TBE), we delve more into how AJ's story and this platform he has now.. and how it's been the catalyst for him wanting to help the younger generation of aviators. I believe everyone is going to take some valuable lessons away from AJ's story.

I'm adding some more flavor to the AvGeek Chronicles Podcast! On this episode I'm doing a little commentary and opinion piece after I read an incredible and insightful article in the latest edition of the Flight Training Magazine, put out by AOPA. AOPA Editor Ian Twombly put out an opinion piece titled "Mind Over Matter" and he hit this piece on the head! I'm bringing you his article on the podcast and then going to add my own opinion to it, giving you a few reasons why I believe what he said is so true. This episode is going to talk a lot about mindset for new pilots! Keep on flying everyone!
