You're The Problem AND The Solution Feb 18, 2021
    Show notes

Today, we’re exploring the concept that was true for us. When parents judge what their child is doing as wrong they become the problem. For only seeing the problems, you miss the solutions. When a parent can shift their perspective, and realize they are part of the problem, they can see clearer solutions for their child.

When our son was first diagnosed with Autism, we went into hyper-fix-it mode. Every behavior that we witnessed we attributed to his diagnosis. We judged it all. And those judgments robbed us from appreciating so many beautiful moments with our child. We were so focused on the bad that we couldn’t see the good.

Our hyper-focusing was truly amplifying every little thing and when you focus only on what’s wrong you can’t see what’s right- we were absolutely the problem. It’s not that we don’t think you’re doing everything you can to help your child (you wouldn’t be listening to us if that were the case). But maybe that desperate desire to fix is hindering you from accepting where your child is right now.

When you can let that judgment go, you can truly be a better parent to your child. It allows for a better connection, which will ultimately help you be the best parent, and the best CEO and advocate for them and embark on a path of healing and light.

Today, we’re discussing how you can do that one step at a time.

    Key Takeaways

    • What we mean when we say you are the problem (03:00)
    • Every child is different (08:30)
    • Are there beliefs that you carry that don’t serve you? (12:45)
    • Do you have a clear vision of where you want to go? (19:50)
    • Claim the role of CEO (26:50)
    • Getting aligned with your spouse (32:20)
    • Taking things one step at a time (36:30)

Chiropractic & Craniosacral Therapy Unleash Your Child's Potential Feb 11, 2021
    Show notes

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Karen Erickson, who specializes in chiropractic care and craniosacral therapy. She shares how these modalities can truly help children with a developmental delay like Autism.

We’ve seen chiropractic care provide miraculous value in our healing journey with our son and brought on Dr. Erickson to explain how it may do the same for your children, too. These healing tools can transform a child as it realigns their nervous system and in turn, can have transformative effects on their immune and digestive system due to the interconnectedness of these systems.

Dr. Erickson describes both Chiropractic Care and Craniosacral Therapy and how each impacts the body and facilitates wellness. At its core, this work can provide a foundation for future progress and even kickstart children who may have plateaued in their other therapies.

She urges parents to embrace the potential for change and even to gift themselves with the same healing that chiropractic work can offer. As you know, we best care for our kids when we are feeling our best.

Also, stay tuned through the end as she shares her tips for parents with children who spend a lot of time in front of a digital device. And that’s most of us these days!

Reducing Excess Glutamate Works Wonders Feb 04, 2021
    Show notes

I am so excited to welcome Andi Stowe onto the podcast. Our journeys parallel in so many ways, and I'm excited to share her story of faith, hope, and healing. Today, we're discussing how reducing excess Glutamate in a child's diet with Autism can help reduce symptoms, behaviors and restore balance.

Glutamate is an amino acid found in food and the most abundant neurotransmitter in the body. You might be more familiar with it than you think, as it is a food additive used to enhance flavor, commonly known as MSG. However, due to food processing and deceptive labeling, you may be consuming far more than you realize. When in excess, glutamate can have harmful effects on the body, especially in children with neurological sensitivities.

Andi shares her story about how overhauling her son's diet dramatically changed his health for the better. It goes back to parents being the detectives for their children and working hard to be the best advocates they can.

We discuss the importance of reading ingredient labels (and how to do it) and ultimately having the faith that the behaviors our children are exhibiting are actually a blessing to help guide us in the best ways to heal them.

Tune in to our enlightening conversation and consider- could excess glutamate be contributing to your child’s (or even your) health issue?

    Key Takeaways

    • Andi’s experience reducing glutamate in her child’s diet (03:20)
    • Figuring out the next steps after changes in diet (10:10)
    • Andi’s blog to document her experience (15:40)
    • Finding the balance with our children (22:00)
    • Noticing the dramatic impact diet has on behavior and health (29:09)
    • Read the ingredient lists (33:00)
    • Recognizing and having the faith that an Autism diagnosis can be a blessing (41:30)

Homeopathy CAN Work Miracles Jan 28, 2021
    Show notes

This week, we talked with Amy Lansky, who wrote the book "Impossible Cure". We discuss an overview of homeopathy and how it can help a child with Autism (and the parent as well).

This episode we connected with Amy Lansky. Amy Lansky is an author and her first book is “Impossible Cure”. This book changed our life and was truly an important piece of our autism puzzle. We discuss an overview of homeopathy and how it can help a child with Autism (and truly anyone).

Amy shares her discovery of homeopathy and offers a brief history of its relationship with western medicine. Homeopathy is really unknown in comparison to western or allopathic medicine. Amy argues that not only is homeopathy a credible medical practice but that it can especially be beneficial to more sensitive individuals such as children with Autism.

At its core, the mission of homeopathic medicine is to assist the body in healing itself. We all have the power of healing living within us, but it's up to us to tap into it and find the right remedy for our wellness journey.

Amy and I discuss how parents can formulate a strategy to help their children and what things they should consider when preparing for an appointment with a homeopath.

Tune in to listen to our enlightening conversation!

    Key Takeaways

    • How Amy found Homeopathy (03:30)
    • History of homeopathy in the western world (08:30)
    • Finding the right remedy (11:45)
    • The threat of homeopathy on conventional medicine (15:00)
    • Figuring out a strategy to help your child (21:35)
    • Prepping for an appointment with a homeopath (28:02)

The Universe Has Your Back Jan 14, 2021

    Warriors Are ALL-IN Jan 07, 2021
    Show notes

Why Warrior? In this episode we go deep on the term "Warrior" and how it has nothing to do with War. A Warrior is all about a parent’s love for their child and their willingness to go ALL-IN.

You've heard us say it repeatedly, so we thought it was time to take a deep dive into what it truly means to be a warrior parent. At its core, a warrior parent accepts and loves their child as they are. And their focus is to do everything in their power to set their child up for success.

Their primary goal is to create an environment that provides the best opportunity for healing and progress and true connection. This work isn't easy and frequently requires a lot of un-learning on the parents' part. It usually means choosing the path less traveled. It often requires breaking through the limitations that others put on their child.

In this episode, we're going over the characteristics of the warrior parent, why it's essential to find a great support network, and practices you can start TODAY to ensure you are showing up for your child in the best way possible.

    • Why we love the term warrior (04:00)
