    Our heroes start off the New Year with a visit from writer, inker and longtime freind of the program Ande Parks. Ande joins Chris, Sal and Skottie as we take a look at the year that was, and what we're looking forward to in 2008. We go over some of our favorite books from 2007 including Daredevil, Iron-Fist, The Spirit, Criminal, Green Lantern, and others, and talk with both Ande and Skottie about their favorite projects and what they are working on next. Later, we talk about what we'd like to see happen in 2008 and give our thoughts on how comics can improve.
    Meanwhile...We find out what good stuff everyone got for Christmas, how to properly prepare a plate of cookies for Santa, what kids shows and toys are outlawed in the Parks household, Ande taste-tests various airplane bottles of booze, why Ande is very much like Prince, and more.

    This week, our Heroes of the Holidays Tom, Skottie, Sal, Chris, Norton and Hank get together to spread some cheer. We're full of the Christmas Spirit, and a bunch of small bottles of booze. In Top of the Stack, Chris leads us on a marathon of Stackables, including The Trial of Captain Sweeto and Other Stories: A Collection of the Comic Strips of the Perry Bible Fellowship, The Overman #1, The Goon: Chinatown, Green Lantern #25, Popgun Vol. 1, and The Infinite Horizon #1.
    Meanwhile...We find all the reasons why Sal has not finished reading I Am Legend, how old Tom's girlfriend really is, how The Golden Compass turned Skottie into a Baby Jesus Killer, whether or not Nick Hornby can write skaters and why Tony Hawk is not relevant, how a sixteen year old may react to getting a girl pregnant, the War of Iraqi Aggression and Sal's defense of liberty, we give thanks for the cards and gifts we received, we call Braxton to wish him well, and we finish off the show by reading emails.

    Around Comics - The Comic Book Culture Podcast - Ep. 158 - The Club This week, our heroes Chris, Tom, Sal and Skotte discuss the Club pics from November. First up, they battle the southern fried freaks from Drive-By-Truckers two-disc CD "Southern Rock Opera". One of Chris'favorite discs takes a bit of a southern beat-down for it's mixed message and country roots. Next up, Guermo Del Toro's Spanish horror flick "The Devil's Backbone" get's it's backside buttered up. Creepy, touching, dramatic and entertaining, an overall entertaining film. Lastly, Ed Brubaker's Wildstorm murder mystery "Point Blank" takes a few shots but recovers quickly. We finish up with a couple of voicemails, a few shoutouts and announcement, and Tom's picks for December Club.
