As both women and men age, they fall prey to the negative effects of lines, wrinkles, and dark circles under the eyes. At one point or another, all of us face these issues. How do these pesky culprits appear on our face? In this episode of the podcast, Sheetal discusses the three most common causes of dark under-eye circles, lines and wrinkles, as well as the simple lifestyle changes you can incorporate in order to address these skin care concerns.
Genetics, a lack of sleep, and long hours spent in front of harshly lit screens (computer, phone, tablet, etc.) are the three most common culprits of causing aging marks on the face, such as crows feet and habit lines. To combat these, you can; 1. make use of the research in the field of epigenetics, which means to correct your lifestyle to minimize your gene expression, even if you're predisposed to something genetically 2. adjust the brightness and font size on your screens, while also limiting your time in front of them, and 3. make sure you get a proper amount of sleep each night.
A simple, DIY remedy that Sheetal shares includes one teaspoon of instant coffee, one-eighth of a teaspoon of turmeric powder, and enough fresh cucumber juice to make a paste. Combine all of the ingredients thoroughly, and then pat the mixture around the sides, under, and over your eyes for 10-15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.
