#240 – Is the Old Testament Irrelevant for Christians? May 18, 2018
    Show notes

Join us for this brand-new episode of Apologia Radio in which we examine a recent sermon by Andy Stanley. Stanley argued that the New Testament authors did not root their ethics in Old Testament law and he gives the impression of overall embarrassment with the Old Testament record.

What is the proper place of the Old Testament Revelation and Law in the New Testament Revelation? What is the proper role of the Law of God in the life of the believer in Jesus the Messiah?

Leaving Mormonism: Conversation with an Ex-missionary May 12, 2018
    Show notes

This is a very special edition of Apologia Radio. It’s an actual recording of a conversation between Jeff Durbin and someone who was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a Mormon missionary. He made contact with us because of our online apologetics content (Thank you to our All Access partners for making that content possible). He has spent a lot of time struggling through issues related to his Mormon faith and he even showed up at the Mormon Easter Pageant to have a conversation with Jeff. Here is that content:

Yesterday, he came into our studio and sat down with Jeff to ask a series of questions that both he and Jeff hope will be helpful to Christians and Mormons. We believe that this content can truly bless people and we would be so honored if you joined us in sharing it. Please pray for him and for the large segment of Mormons who are struggling with their faith.

All Access Partners: You made this possible. Thank you for being our partners in this ministry. We are humbled and grateful to be doing this ministry with you.

If you haven’t signed up for All Access. . . what are you waiting for?! You will be partnering with us in ministry and you will get all of our TV shows, After Shows, and Apologia Academy!

#239 – Alfie Evans: Devoured By The Beast May 04, 2018
    Show notes

We’re sure that you are all aware of the tragic and heartbreaking recent death of the precious little boy, Alfie Evans. We are grieved over the circumstances that led to his death. An out of control and godless State determined that Alfie’s life wasn’t worth preserving and fighting for and, against the wishes of his parents, the ruling was that Alfie was appointed to die. He was a little boy with a very serious illness. The Italian government had offered him citizenship and to receive care in their country. A helicopter was on standby and the Pope himself was involved with a plea for the preservation of this precious child’s life.

The State refused to back down and sanctioned the death of this little boy. Not only did they refuse to allow the parents to treat him in the way they wanted to (in an effort to fight for his life) but they literally had the doors of the hospital guarded so as to keep Alfie from being taken out of the hospital and out of the country to be able to fight for his life. They starved this little boy. He was tortured by the State. The decree was made that his life was not valuable enough to fight for and therefore it was determined that he should die.

Alfie died (after his father was called away for an unusual meeting with staff) after he received four injections.

How should we respond to such a thing? Is this the natural and logical end of socialized medicine and a State-run-health-care-system?

We talk about it. Please join us in speaking the truth into this great evil by sharing this content.

    #237 – True Social Justice & Racial Reconciliation Apr 20, 2018
    Show notes

We are confident that many of you are aware of the conflict and conversation that has entered into the Christian community as of late concerning social justice and racial reconciliation. On the one hand, we have concerns that we have addressed in terms of how some have gone about bringing the conversation and in terms of some of the solutions offered. However, we are thrilled that many Christian leaders have entered into the discussion that many of us have been having for decades: true social justice.

We know that God is the sovereign and when something happens in His Kingdom and church it happens for a purpose. So we see the silver-lining here and we want to offer biblical and godly conversation that aims at listening to one another and seeks God’s voice in how to experience transformation and healing.

Does God have any concern for social justice in the New Covenant?

Does God’s Word tell us that we are to expect or pursue social justice in the New Covenant?

How do we address this issue without abandoning ourselves to the perverse social gospel of Protestant Liberalism?

It turns out that there are real, clear, and abiding elements of God’s Law that we can all stand on together in our pursuit of justice in the world. Listen to this episode and find out. Share it with someone you love. We pray that this episode will be healing conversation to many of our wounded and it would be a course-corrective for those who may have started standing on answers that come from unbelieving thought rather than from God’s own Revelation.

    #236 – THABITI, RACISM, & THE UNMERCIFUL SERVANT Apr 12, 2018
    Show notes

On this new episode of Apologia Radio we are joined by our good friend and Hip-Hop artist, Ivery Conerly. We produced this episode with heavy hearts and a deep desire to see healing take place. You may be aware of the significant discussion and fall-out over the last couple of weeks (due in large part to the recent MLK Conference). Racial divides are very much alive and well at the moment and much of it has been brought into the church by a foreign worldview and ideology (more on this in the weeks to come).

Here is some of the recent conflict:

    Thabiti:

We Await Repentance for Assassinating Dr. King

    Dr. James White:

The Racialist Lens Disrupts True Christian Unity: A Response to Thabiti Anyabwile

    Douglas Wilson:

    Dear Thabiti

On this episode we discuss the problem of hatred and tribalism in the world and in the church (read: racism). We embrace the need to be sensitive to real hurt within the black community and we talk about the need to reject humanistic and unbelieving starting points, tactics, and strategies to address the problem of “racism” and justice.

We hope and pray that this episode adds to the renewal and healing process. We are all one family in Christ. We have to fight to act like it.

#235 – RACIAL STRIFE PROPAGATED IN THE CHURCH Apr 07, 2018
    Show notes

Join us for this very important new episode of Apologia Radio in which we engage with some of the recent comments by Thabiti Anyabwile in his recent post with the Gospel Coalition. It was titled, “We Await Repentance for Assassinating Dr. King”. We talk a bit about the popular new fad with many in the Evangelical church of creating a new version of “class warfare”. Only, in this case, it is an amplification of “racial” distinctions within the Christian community.

The stuff is deadly and it is tearing us apart.

We talk about it and make a plea for a biblical approach to the world and color.

We are also joined by our good friend from CrossPolitic, Gabriel Rench. He updates us about their recent town-hall with some of the candidates for Lt. Governor in Idaho. The event caused a bit of a stir with the national media: Fox News, AP, and more. One of the candidates answered in the affirmative: should women who have abortions be punished by the criminal justice system?

Don’t miss it! Share it with someone you love!

    #234 – Hoggwash Arguments & Gun Control Mar 31, 2018
    Show notes

Don’t miss the exciting and new episode of Apologia Radio! We’re back from our break and we tackle the current events that have caught everyone’s attention. David Hogg is a student who, thankfully, survived the Florida school shooting. He has been very vocal in his attacks upon the rights of Americans and he is the new (and very popular) icon of the Liberal propoganda movement.

However, what do we find when we examine his arguments surrounding the 2nd Amendment?

Find out here on Apologia Radio!

Share this episode with your Liberal friends and with everyone on your social media. You have the power to challenge the popular narrative. It’s in your hands.

ENDING ABORTION IN OHIO WITH RON HOOD! Mar 28, 2018
    Show notes

Ron Hood is attempting to pass a law in Ohio that would criminalize abortion immediately. In our attempt to contact him, he called us and told us that he was on his way to Arizona and would be at our studio in an hour. What followed was one of the best interviews Apologia has ever done. You need to listen to this interview, you need to share what is sad here and you need to take action and contact Ohio legislators and tell them to pass HB 565 immediately.

#233 – CRIMINALIZING ABORTION IN SOUTH CAROLINA? Feb 28, 2018
    Show notes

Listen-in on this discussion on the newest episode of Apologia Radio. We interview Dr. Matthew Clark with Personhood South Carolina about the recent attempt to put forth legislation that would recognize the humanity of a person at conception and give them all the legal protections afforded to born human beings. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this bill (by people on all sides). There are those on the Left that reject the notion that human beings ought to be protected in the womb and seen as humans. There are those on our side that question whether or not this bill goes far enough. We had him on to discuss the bill.

Note: We believe that it is necessary to fight against abortion with a consistent Christian witness. We want legislation that criminalizes abortion and recognizes the image of God and humanity of every person from conception. We want legislation that is strong enough and consistent enough to enforce and that would give just penalties to anyone engaging in the practice. We see this bill as consistent in the area of recognizing the humanity of a person at conception and therefore is not in the same category of the failed legislation of the Pro-life community in terms of incrementalism (cleaner abortion facilities, heartbeat bills, pain capable, etc.).

We also give you a bonus track from our recent discussion with Dr. Ben Merkle and Rebbeca Merkle. It’ll bless your socks off. Married couples are encouraged to listen and get challenged.
