"Welcome to 'Holistic Health & Anxiety Talks' with your host, Nick Jancev. In this podcast, we dive deep into the intricate relationship between holistic health practices and mental well-being, specifically focusing on anxiety. Each week, we explore a variety of topics, from mindfulness techniques and nutritional guidance to the power of movement and alternative therapies, all aimed at empowering you to take charge of your mental health.

As a passionate advocate for holistic living, I believe that true wellness encompasses not just the absence of anxiety but a vibrant, fulfilling life. Together, we’ll engage with experts, share personal stories, and discuss practical strategies that can help you navigate the challenges of anxiety while fostering a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Whether you're seeking to understand your anxiety better, looking for effective coping strategies, or simply curious about holistic health, you’re in the right place. So, grab a cup of tea, find a comfortable spot, and let’s embark on this journey towards healing and empowerment together.

In this episode we go deep into our past which often shapes our identities, the quote "You will never have a future if you cling to the past," attributed to contemporary poet R. H. Sin, serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of letting go. This statement encapsulates a profound truth about the human experience: the necessity of releasing past experiences—both joyful and painful—in order to embrace new opportunities and possibilities.

As we navigate through life, it is all too easy to become trapped in cycles of nostalgia or regret, creating mental and emotional barriers that stifle our growth. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, and the comfort of familiarity can anchor us to experiences that no longer serve us, preventing us from pursuing new relationships, career changes, and personal goals.

In this exploration, we will delve into the significance of R. H. Sin’s quote, examining how clinging to the past affects our present and future. We’ll uncover the transformative power of moving forward, highlighting the journey of self-discovery, acceptance, and empowerment that comes from letting go. Ultimately, we will see how embracing the future opens the door to a life rich with potential, resilience, and hope. Join us as we embark on this journey of understanding and growth.

    The Unresolved Trauma's & Our Psychology Sep 05, 2024
    Show notes

Welcome to another episode of the Anxiety Coach Podcast with your host, Nick Jancev. Today, we’re diving deep into a topic that affects countless individuals: the connection between unresolved past traumas and psychological insomnia.

Many people find themselves lying awake at night, their minds racing with memories and emotions tied to past experiences. Here are the main reasons why unresolved traumas can lead to sleepless nights:

**Intrusive Thoughts:** Traumatic experiences often lead to persistent, unwanted memories that can invade our thoughts, making it difficult to relax and fall asleep.

**Hyperarousal:** Individuals with unresolved trauma may experience heightened states of anxiety and hypervigilance, keeping their minds and bodies in a constant state of alertness, which disrupts the ability to unwind at night.

*Fear of Nighttime Vulnerability:** Trauma can create a heightened sense of fear and insecurity, particularly in the dark. This can lead to anxiety about being alone at night, making it even harder to drift off.

*Emotional Dysregulation:** Unprocessed trauma can lead to difficulty managing emotions, causing mood swings and anxiety that can prevent restful sleep.

*Negative Sleep Associations:** Past traumas can create negative associations with sleep, leading to a fear of bedtime itself, which can perpetuate a cycle of insomnia.

Join us as we explore these themes further, share insights, and provide strategies to help reclaim peaceful nights. It's time to address the past, heal, and finally get the restful sleep we all deserve.
