Miami Dolphins (Phinsider Radio) Touching the surface of a deep Miami Dolphins draft class Apr 27, 2020

Show notes

In this episode of Phinsider Radio: Jake Mendel (@JMendel94) and I (@houtz) breakdown the Miami Dolphins 2020 NFL draft class. What was going through our heads as the Dolphins successfully pulled off one of the greatest smokescreens in recent memory? We discuss how it feels to have a perennial superstar QB in Miami finally. How soon should the Dolphins turn to Tagovailoa If Fitzpatrick struggles? (spoiler alert: let him sit the entire season!) We then discuss the rest of the first round and our initial thoughts on OT Austin Jackson and shutdown cornerback Noah Igbinoghene. What can we expect from both players in 2019, and what is the long-term vision in Miami? Was Jackson a reach? How does Igbinoghene fit into a loaded secondary? Next, we discuss day two of the draft. What should fans expect from Robert Hunt, and where might he play in 2019? And although it appeared Miami got sniped for J.K. Dobbins by Baltimore, Brian Flores seemed over-the-moon excited for Raekwon Davis. How does he fit upfront in Miami’s versatile defense? Speaking of secondary, how does Texas Safety Brandon Jones look on tape? Did the Dolphins find a younger version of Reshad Jones? Lastly, we breakdown the final day of draft weekend. How do we feel about Georgia IOL Solomon Kindley, UNC DL Jason Strowbridge, Boise St. EDGE Curtis Weaver, LSU LS Blake Ferguson, and swiss-army knife Malcolm Perry? Miami Dolphins (Phinsider Daily) Latest on the Miami Dolphins draft plans Apr 14, 2020

Show notes

In this episode of Phinsider Radio, Jake and I are joined by Matthew Cannata to discuss the latest on the Miami Dolphins and what he’s hearing heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. First, we discuss whether or not the Dolphins have an interest in LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. Could Miami trade up? What might the draft compensation look like? Is he the missing piece in Miami, and would the Bengals be willing to part ways with the Heisman Trophy Winner? Next, we discuss Tua Tagovailoa. Are the Dolphins concerned about his injury history? Is he still the quarterback Miami covets, or is Justin Herbert, the new leader in the clubhouse? Maybe, Miami should trade up for ‘The Left Arm of God’? Are the smoke and mirrors surrounding the Dolphins’ interest in Herbert that, or is this the perfect smokescreen? And what about Utah State QB Jordan Love? Miami rushed him and J.K. Dobbins in before the league shut down NFL facilities, but very little has been leaked surrounding the promising young QB. We then try to figure out what Miami should do with the remainder of their first-round picks and what positions they have to address on day one of the NFL draft. Miami Dolphins (Phinsider Radio) Dolphins needs and potential movement in the 2020 NFL draft Apr 09, 2020

Show notes

In this episode of Phinsider Radio, Jake and I discuss the latest NFL draft rumors surrounding the Miami Dolphins. Is their love for Justin Herbert genuine? Could they make a move for LSU QB Joe Burrow or will they stay at #5 and take whichever quarterback falls into their lap? Is Tua Tagovailoa still their guy, or might they be shifting their focus to Justin Herbert or Jordan Love? We then break down the Dolphins draft needs, which include offensive tackle, offensive guard, defensive end, defensive tackle, running back, and of course, quarterback. How will Miami approach this original draft? How will Zoom hold up with 32 NFL teams and general managers all jockeying for position? I wrote an article earlier this week on the Dolphins’ five most significant draft needs. Lastly, we discuss what Miami might do with their 14 draft picks. Where might they decide to trade up or down in the first round? How about the rest of the draft? Could they use some of their ammunition to fill the gap between pick #71 and #140? What should we expect from this draft class, and how soon should Chris Grier be graded? All of this and more on today’s episode of Phinsider Radio! Miami Dolphins (Phinsider Radio) The latest NFL Draft rumors and how the Coronavirus could impact the Dolphins draft plans Apr 02, 2020

Show notes

In this episode of Phinsider Radio Jake Mendel (@JMendel94), and I (@Houtz) discuss the latest on the Dolphins QB rumors and how the 2020 NFL draft is going to be affected by the Coronavirus. Will the Dolphins take a chance on Tua Tagovailoa, despite not being able to meet with him face to face? Do the Joe Burrow trade rumors have legs, and what might a trade look like to land the Heisman Trophy winner? We then shift our focus to Xavien Howard, who’s name is once again being leaked in trade rumors. Is this smoke, or could the Dolphins move on from the shutdown cornerback now that Byron Jones is in the mix? How could that affect Miami’s draft plans, and what would realistic compensation be for the 26-year-old corner? Next, we talk about the NFL Draft and Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor. Is he a better prospect than Saquon Barkley? One NFL site seems to think so. Should the Dolphins draft him at 18? Or let the board fall in a loaded draft class? Lastly, we remind our listeners to remain safe in these troubling times. And to always practice proper hand-washing, social distancing, and remember to tell your family you love them each and every day. All of this and more on today’s episode of Phinsider Radio!
