Andy's Girls: A Real Housewives Podcast

You've Got Blackmail: Part 1 (with Tracie Morrissey) Sep 11, 2024

Show notes

As a part of her five step program of Shan Standom (renew, rejoice, revisit, revenge, renaissance tour), Sarah realizes she needs to take a moment to reflect. Reflect on her thoughts and feels, and challenge them. And who better to mention it all than one of her Bravoholic pals, Tracie Morrissey (writer, producer, host of the podcast Pot Psychology, and creator of pipe dreams.fun). They discuss parenting on Housewives (and Heather’s decision to move her kids’ schooling from OC to LA), what happens when Tamra’s gut instinct isn’t in line with gut health (and an alternate view on Tam v. Shan), and what happens when some women’s instinct for diplomacy meets with the production expectation for conflict. This is a two parter, so buckle up - it’s Andy’s Girls, Episode 587! Part 1!

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Part 2 (with Tom Smyth) Sep 07, 2024

Show notes

The journey continues. On this two-parter, Sarah and writer pal Tom Smyth unpack Tamra's Housewives role-play (and the missing pieces from her personal life, no, not about the kids), Vicki's shoot-from-the-hip ability to meet Tamra where she lives, the confusing timeframe seemingly suggested by Alexis and John, how the cast may re-set storyline positions at the reunion (and production's responsibility to 'share the wealth' when it comes to individual cast member pressure and strife, and what hitting bottom means on a show that seems laser focus on one cast member's emotional torture by an ex. Tamra might be in the hot seat with the audience and much of her cast, but lucky for her, it's not as scorching as that blue chemical peel that melted her face - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 586! Part 2!

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Part 1 (with Tom Smyth) Sep 07, 2024

Show notes

Sarah watches the newest OC and Tamra's face-melting IG stories and immediately puts out a 911 to America's support dog and spiritual healer, Archie Beador, for some urgent tail wagging in the cloff. Archie's intern (a rescue from Sonjarita) informs her that alas his paws are full at home (understandable), but has she tried a walk and talk with one of her Bravoholic pals instead? Thankfully, Sarah's writer girl pal Tom Smyth hears the call, and zips over to unpack all the devastating, wild details over the course of this two-part double episode: Tamra's Housewives role-play (and the missing pieces from her personal life, no, not about the kids), Vicki's shoot-from-the-hip ability to meet Tamra where she lives, the confusing timeframe seemingly suggested by Alexis and John, how the cast may re-set storyline positions at the reunion (and production's responsibility to 'share the wealth' when it comes to individual cast member pressure and strife, and what hitting bottom means on a show that seems laser focus on one cast member's emotional torture by an ex. It might be extortion, or blackmail, or just the sequel to Dirty John - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 586! Part 1!

Murder, She Wrote (with Brice Sander) Aug 31, 2024

Show notes

Sarah re-watches the movie "E.T.," based on the true story of Shan stans who have finally, thanks to season 18, found home. Inspired by such a heartwarming message (Shan stans may appear otherworldly at first glance, but they deserve a happy ending too, no, not that kind), she Zooms up another ET star: Brice Sander, chief Housewives correspondent at Entertainment Tonight, aka the Housewife whisperer. They deep dive Brice's iconic recent interviews with members of the OC cast, the questions Brice wish he asked during his sit down with Alexis (and the questions she wouldn't - or couldn't - directly answer), Alexis and John's counter-productive strategy against Shan, Emily's vulnerability sharing why Jen's financial dependence triggered childhood trauma, the impact of Katie's ex-husband abandoning their daughter, Teddi Jo Carrot's Housewives cosplay, the joy of a Traitors themed game night that doesn't make sense, and whether Tamra's modern Housewives architecture is substituting rotted wood. Be wary of the ides of Rinna, for they conquer all - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 584!

Jesus, Take the Wheel: Alexis and Johnny J Are Engaged Aug 29, 2024

Show notes

Someone needs to tell Vera Wang that sleeveless is preferred. (Alexis Couture throwback, y'all!!) It's true: Alexis Bellino and John Janssen made it to month nine, and apparently the anniversary gift for 9 months is a rock. Not Gibraltar, or not just that. But a stone. Stone Philliips would've been preferred. Stone soup, even. But instead the world was gifted - nay, presented - with this definitely joyful happily-ever-after, shared by John's closest friends and family also known as People dot com. Sarah deep dives her thoughts and feels, how this will impact the upcoming reunion, John's record as a perfect partner focused on bliss, the heavy lifting that somehow seems to fall on his beloveds' shoulders, a misperception of the role and opportunity for Housewives' loves, and just a wee bit of Shan. If Jesus Jugs and Johnny J register for nine lemons and a bowl, the cloffice will riot - it's an Andy's Girls emergency, Episode 583!

Best in Show (with Abbey Bonadies) Aug 28, 2024

Show notes

Inspired after a week of Bravo excellence (that episode of Orange County, cast interviews about that episode of Orange County, melatonin-induced nightmares about going days without re-watching that episode of Orange County), Sarah realizes she simply must invite over a Bravoholic pal who knows how to break it all down: white board expert, content creator, and brand marketing strategist, Abbey Bonadies. They settle into the cloffice for a wide ranging kiki: Abbey's recent journey watching OC in its entirety for the very first time (and how that has impacted her opinion of current drama), Alexis' focus on 'justice' aka revenge, updated info about the video drop Alexis and John have pre-planned for the upcoming OC reunion (put it in your Google Cal/pretend to be surprised), nuanced takes about Tre and Melissa's relationships from a reasonable Tre Hugger (really!), a possibly hot take on the role of reality TV in their estrangement, and Teresa's future on and off the network. This ep was almost called Dumb and Dumberer, but Sarah was concerned Alexis wouldn't get the joke - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 582!

If the Glove Don't Fit: Part 2 (with Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo) Aug 24, 2024

Show notes

The journey continues. The (not-so-conspiracy-but-maybe) theories, too. Sarah and AG guest co-host Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo (content creator and host of the pod "High & Low") continue their OC dive. They discuss Alexis' shocking reveal about that alleged video of Shan (and John's decision to keep quiet, aka, not), a timeline query that might impact a level of connection to Tamra during her chat with Shan, why Sarah wishes Tamra wore her "active listening" hat during her convo with Gina about identity and shame, BBDB's deep dive on Ryan's legal situation and how that may or may not impact Jen's future (....it may), and whether Katie's motivations match what Heather says is a "fan ID." It's almost sweater weather, but OC is hot as ever - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 581! Part 2!

If the Glove Don't Fit: Part 1 (with Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo) Aug 24, 2024

Show notes

Sarah survives a near-hit on her life (the OC trailer dropped, and she started hyperventilating). Thrilled with a new lease (don't tell the cloff), she celebrates another new day in paradise (a season of Orange County fully focused on Shan). So she Zooms up fellow OC enthusiast, her own personal LifeAlert, and Bravoholic BFF, Bravo Bravo Ducking Bravo (content creator and host of the pod "High & Low"). They celebrate their brand new niche NJ merchandise collaboration (links in bio! Two size options! Extra cackle with both!), and deep dive the inspo behind Send it To Karen@Example.com, what it means to be a Tam stan, Gina and Emily's stress release, and of course a back-and-forth on Bennifer. It's a to be continued that makes Bravo proud - it's Andy's Girls, Episode 581! Part 1!

Page Sixth Sense: Part 2 (with Evan Real) Aug 22, 2024

Show notes

Extra! Hey, extra! Hey, look at the headline! The two parter spectacular continues. Sarah and AG guest co-host Evan Real (host at Page Six, and cohost of Page Six's podcast "Virtual Reali-tea") continue their deep dive, and discuss clarity on how leaking stories to Page Six has changed from those glorious early days (shoutout RHONY S3), Ramona's firing remix, after Page Six posted a screenshot of racist texts, what Alexis is losing by not sharing a storyline focused on herself, an expectation of growth that may or may not be deserved, Sarah's sassy feedback to Tamra's recent viral interview with Evan, what RHOC could learn from Maya Angelou, and a shiva call for Bennifer. Waiting for tonight - no-ooooh, it's Andy's Girls, Episode 580! Part 2!
