Dr. Steve Sullivan is a tenured Professor of Anatomy & Physiology at Bucks County Community College, where he’s taught since 2002. He’s also the author of Anatomy & Physiology Digital Suite from McGraw-Hill Education. This show is not only intended for college students taking A&P, but also for anyone who is interested in how the human body is structured and how it functions. Where students are concerned, the goal is “B or better.” Whether you’re interested in nursing, physical therapy, physician assistant, radiography, dental hygiene, etc., a B or better is the goal to be competitive with other students in your field. Today’s episode continues our discussion of nutrition, covering serum lipids, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. I also had the pleasure of talking with Dr. David Kaufman, professor of neurology at Michigan State University and former sideline neurologist for Michigan State Football. We talked about how he became the sideline neurologist, the worst injury he saw, concussions, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). You can read all about Dr. Kaufman’s experience in his book, We Need You in the Locker Room: A Neurologist’s Journey Behind the Scenes of Major College Football. Proceeds from Dr. Kaufman’s book go to two wonderful causes. The George Webster Memorial Scholarship and to help fund the Jake Foglio Chair of Spirituality.
