    Mookie Wilson on Legacy Catering and His Friendship with Bill Buckner Dec 06, 2022

    Recorded outside in Port St. Lucie during Mets Fantasy Camp, Jay Horwitz sits down with Mookie Wilson but this time the conversation isn’t just baseball, it’s focused on Mookie’s new career, Legacy Catering. Mookie has started a catering business with his brothers, and they built a mobile kitchen on a trailer that they drive across the east coast cooking up a storm, Legacy Catering was a big part of this year’s Fantasy Camp and cooked food for all 200 campers during the banquet dinner on the final night of camp. While Mookie’s food was a big part of the conversation, Jay and Mookie also spoke about how close Mookie got with Bill Buckner after the famous play during Game 6, where Mookie’s nickname came from, and some shred stories over their decades long friendship!

    Billy Wagner and Mike Pelfrey on Coaching Baseball Nov 29, 2022

    Jay Horwitz checks in with Billy Wagner and Mike Pelfrey, former teammates, and current baseball coaches at different levels. Mike is currently the pitching coach at Wichita State (his alma mater) and Billy is the head baseball coach at The Miller School in Albemarle, Virginia. Billy and Mike give their take on coaching and how facing adversity as a player is the only way to really get through to the kids playing today. They also reflect on their time playing for the Mets and Jay mentions some tough losses for Mike, including the fact that he gave up a home run to the first batter to every get up at Citi Field. The latest round of Hall of Fame candidates has been revealed and Billy Wagner remains on the ballot after a few years of getting closer and closer, Billy tells Jay what the hardest part of that process has been.     Ed Hearn Talks About Fighting For His Life, His Constant Hope And The ’86 Mets Nov 22, 2022

    Ed Hearn talks to Jay about how he stays so positive while he’s currently fighting for his life and in need of a kidney transplant. Ed talks about how he’s been able to remain positive during this battle and has even used it to inspire others. Ed also remembers his time with the Mets, what it was like to catch Doc Gooden, the impact Gary Carter had on his life and how he is the only player in MLB history to win a championship at all levels (A, AA, AAA, MLB).

    Lorraine Hamilton Talks Tom Seaver, Historic Ceremonies and Her NYS Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Nov 08, 2022

    Lorraine Hamilton has spent close to 30 seasons working for the New York Mets and on Sunday, November 13th, she will be inducted into the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame. In her role as Executive Director, Broadcasting & Special Events for the New York Mets, Lorraine has worked hard to put together incredible ceremonies including the Shea Goodbye, the 9/11 anniversary tributes, and number retirements.

    Lorraine was involved in the inception, build and execution of the newly unveiled Tom Seaver statue. Her dedication to the project was motivated by her close and longstanding professional relationship with Seaver.

    Before Lorraine retires later this year, she sits down with Jay Horwitz to talk about memories of working at Shea Stadium in the 80s, helping to organize Mike Piazza's number retirement, Cooperstown induction and the importance of honoring the Mets long history.
