#547: God Is Moving — Lessons in Listening Apr 24, 2024

Show notes

Perhaps the single most consistent characteristic of the people of God, throughout the Bible, is they listen to God's voice. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson offers insight on what it means to listen to the Lord and provides steps we can take to draw closer to God so we can hear Him better. In Judges 6 and 7, God gave Gideon a very difficult and seemingly impossible assignment, and his willingness to follow the Lord led to supernatural results. God continues to call people into challenging assignments today, and deciding to listen and obey His direction comes with many blessings and benefits. #544: God Is Moving — Men, Women & Angels Apr 11, 2024

Show notes

Just as God has specific assignments for angels, he has unique tasks for us to accomplish. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the fact that God is moving in a way that's more pronounced than at any other time in our lives. Will we sit on the sidelines, or will we choose to engage in His purposes and offer our lives, our time, and our talents to further His Kingdom? Many people in the Bible felt unqualified for their God-assignments, and Pastor Allen examines some of their responses to show these people were a lot like us—insecure, doubtful, and resistant to new ideas. But God works in the earth through imperfect people who are willing to follow Him. If we choose to live godly lives and spread His light and truth, He will come alongside us and multiply our efforts. #540: Clarify Your Identity — A King & A Kingdom Mar 26, 2024

Show notes

It's time to identify ourselves by our faith in Jesus and whole-heartedly follow our King. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the importance of our allegiance to the King we serve and our role in His Kingdom. While God is a God of love and peace, He is also a God of judgment; He is faithful to discipline His children when they go astray. Jesus prophesied God's judgment on Jerusalem for rejecting Him, and those prophesies came to pass. When nations rebel against God, reject Him, and fall into immorality, God is faithful to address it, and we see this happening in our nation today. As Christ-followers, will we declare God's truth, even when it makes us unpopular, or will we avoid being a voice for biblical principles so we can keep our jobs, social status, and sense of security? Let's engage in what God has called us to do so we can extend His Kingdom and avoid His increasing judgment.
